As the title suggests, I am having an issue getting proper adjustment in both my LCA and UCA's after installing my RockJock CE-9131RH2P rear springs. After setting my pinion angle, the upper arm(s) do not contain enough length to reach the UCA Mount at the frame side. This led me to move the rear axle forward, both to get the upper arms to work and to reduce my gas tank contact. After adjusting the lowers in so that the axle moves towards the transmission, It seems I do not have enough lower adjustment. The arms are at full shortened adjustment

As a side note, Spring measurements at ride height are below. I have a pretty severe rake towards the front with the rear sitting high.

Front (CE-9132FP)
16.5 or 4.5in lift

Rear(CE-9131RH2P)
13.5 or 5.5in lift

Any suggestions on what to try next? I was thinking of ordering longer shank JJ's for the uppers. However I am concerned with losing adjustment in the lowers.

If this sounds like an email I need to send to Core, I agree.

Are you able to get the uppers in after you shorten the lowers? I'd reach out to Core either way and see what they say. They're new I'm assuming?

No even after shortening the Lowers, I cannot get the uppers in. The arms are not new, I have had them for a few years now but they are in good condition. I sent the post to Core to get their advice. After doing some more reading here, I may need to get the CE-9131RH1P which RJ claims are 3.5inch.

It's possible that the 5.5 lift springs in the rear are just a bit to big for the arms. Can you not get 4.5 for the rear to match the front?

I certainly can order some, The 9131RH2P's are advertised on the RJ site as 4in springs. I supposed that would mean I would need to order 3.5in ones if the RJ springs are running long.

What size lift did you have before?

Those part numbers are for the 4in springs.
Did you measure the free length or loaded height of the springs and compare them to the specs listed on the site?

Lift prior was a Rough country 2.5 spring lift. It netted me a 1 inch in the front and .75 lift in the rear. I did not measure the free length of the RJ springs. I am not really sure what the free length would provide me as a data point. I provided my loaded height measurements in my initial post.

Missed that. It would tell you if they're running long.

You might want to cut off and relocate the spring perches with 4" Rock Jock springs. That might get you the extra height you're looking for.

We've had a few forum members order solid aluminum rod from places like Send Cut Send with the ends threaded for double adjustable arms. Worst case we might be able to help you source longer arms for your existing joints.

A spring perch relocation is in my future, but it is a semi distant future. I would imagine that the perch relocation provides a negligible difference in ride height though.

My initial post is regarding my upper arms being too short and my lower arms being too long despite being adjustable. For this I reached out to Core and will report back what they say. In the meantime, I ordered the CE-9131RH1P springs to try those.

If I have to get new arms, and I really hope I do not, I’ll look into SCS.

Must have deleted the emails, sorry brother. I did talk to Brandon (John's son) and went with what he recommended.

Told him about my winch and such.

According to Core 4x4 website all of their CA’s are good for 0-6” of lift. Are you sure you are setting everything up correctly?

Yes, I think so. Currently I have contact in two places. The rear TB hits the gas tank strap, and the diff cover will contact the tank at full bump. I am still waiting to hear back from core, but my guess is the arms are good for up to 4 inches of lift on a TJ. Since I am pushing 5.5inches they may not be adequate. My Tummy tuck is also playing a factor into why my rear pinion angle needs to be higher. Push comes to shove I could swap my fronts LCA’s to the rear and try that too.

It's the general consensus, at least on this forum, that a bolt on 4" suspension lift is the max height with the stock control arm brackets. Going higher than 4" becomes a custom cut and weld job.

I have had this issue with the RJ 4” springs on Ben’s TJ. He also has the Savvy TT. Out solution, with a Rokman tank skid, was to have one man push the tank rearward (while bolts were loose) and another tighten the tank skid. This gave us the clearance we were looking for. And note when first assembled it had gained more than 4.5” of lift. But it sits at 4” now once adjusted, tightened and driven.
I think you can get this with those arms but I’m not certain.
