I remember going to a big campground pool one time when I was probably 10. I showed up trunks on, towel in hand and ready to party like any 10 year old would on a hot summer day, but the very first thing I heard from the parking lot was whistles being blown, quickly followed by the gate being bum rushed by the crown inside. When the gate cleared, I walked in to see staff dumping in two big barrels of chemicals. One of them told me "pool is closed, somebody pooped in it". I wonder who found it, and more importantly, how they found it.

White Water in Atlanta has had that problem several times.

I'd rather swim in a river or lake with fish crap, than a pool with people crap..........

Oh I'm sure sweet talking and some kind of affectionate caressing goes a long way to keeping the peace...

Couldn't sleep last night, so my mind just wanders all over the place. Thought of a good vanity plate for my '89 Dodge dually Cummins:
"TOW JAM" (Yeah, that's the kind of night I was having...)

Also got to thinking about what my favorite year would be for each of the Big Three. Here's what I came up with:

Ford products would be 1956.

Chrysler products would be 1957.

And GM products would be 1960.

Probably not much of a surprise to the group, but the full sized X-frame cars ('59 & '60) are the only El Caminos that I really like. I like Chevelle/Malibu, but the A-body El Caminos just don't do anything for me.

This is the fastest looking hay wagon I've ever seen.

Hey @Squatch, and anybody else who's interested, I learned an answer awhile back, but do you know why that '57 has the area for 4 headlights, but only has 2?

My understanding was that in '57 they knew the 4-light system was approved by all but a few states, and so they were holding off until those few remaining states approved the change for the '58 model year. Chrysler was all primed and ready to go in '57. That's the way I heard it, anyways.

That's pretty much what I've read. I know other '57 MoPars even offered a "quad light" setup for some cars, like Chrysler and Desoto, that were to be sold in certain areas, while other areas were limited to the standard 2 light setup.

GM played that game a little with Cadillac, but it seems like quad lights were limited to the Brougham.

Yup. The '57 Chryslers with the 2-lamp set-up always looked weird to me. The headlight brows were clearly designed for the new 4-lamp set-up, and having just the two (singles) just looks awkward.

Rambler had something similar going on, though theirs was simply trim levels dictating the number of headlights. Again, an awkward look, IMHO.
