All these rusted frame posts on here make me feel better and better about my TJ. I am 56 and never had any interest in a Jeep until my wife went through pancreatic cancer and ( is all clear now ) one day says she always wanted a Jeep, I said to her in 23 years of marriage that's the first I'm hearing of this. I asked her if she wanted me to get rid of our emergency car and buy a Jeep. I really had no idea what to look for in a Jeep but it looked good and drove. When I got it home and started looking underneath it I thought that I should have looked at that stuff better because it looks like it is real rusty but after seeing all these posts I know that all I have is a lot of surface rust, obviously Jeeps are made from some crapy steel that is prone to rust. I have since cleaned it up and started changing some parts etc. Yes I have had bolts and screws that will snap off because they are ceased together but I have nothing like any of these pictures show. I even had a lot of what I thought looked like rust which ended up being Georgia orange clay stuck on some greasy parts.
By the way, after buying the TJ, I am addicted to driving it and taking care of it, just taking the windows out and taking my little dog for a ride feels so free. And yes I wave to all the other Wrangler's I pass.
