It's not my fault. I couldn't help it. No mere mortal could.

On the first sunny Sunday this spring I watched through my kitchen window as my neighbor slowly backed her treasured roadster onto her driveway and after great hesitation placed a For Sale sign under the windshield wiper.

I knew it wouldn't be long until it sold. Fifteen minutes later it was mine.

1996 Miata MX-5 M Edition, 74,001 miles. Local car with most service records including all major service. Original window sticker in glove box. No missing parts. Tags paid through 3/20. Needs tires and a rear window, but that's it.

I've owned 3 Miatas. An NA, an NB, and an NC. Absolutely amazing cars to drive. At some point in the future I intend to purchase a new ND.

These things are a blast to drive, and believe me when I say that they somehow manage to get better with each generation.

Does your purse fit in there?

Kidding, those things are actually quite fun to drive. I used to go to the auto cross (or something like that) and you could ride with people, the miata was always surprisingly fun to ride in.

I am guilty of ownership. I had a second generation. Three transmissions in the first year. I drove the loaner Ford Focus more than the Miata. It was a fun car when it wasn't busting holes and barfing oil on the pavement. Bought an S2000 to replace it, more headroom and more vrooooom.

I have driven a manual Miata one time. It was waaaay more fun that I thought it would be. Neat little cars.

That one looks very clean. ENjoy your new muse!

Im waiting for fiat to compete the recalls on the spider 124 and im going to buy one for the wife. She loves thoes little convertibles.

I've got an NC. Has a tune and coilovers. Easily the most fun car i've ever driven. Fun to commute. Fun to race. Enjoy it!

I had a 96. Bought it new. Kept it about 16 months which was about average for me. It was a lot of fun. Like a go cart. Mine was a manual.

Yes I did get ribbed a lot that it was a girls car. I didn’t care. Those same friends that ribbed me would ask me to borrow it from time to time. I like the newer ones. They are less feminine in my opinion.

GIRL CAR GIRL CAR!!!

Dude that is a great find! The first gen Miata is a fantastic car, it has everything you need in a RWD roadster and nothing you don't. A buddy of mine ran one in SCCA and Solo with us back when they were still fairly new, we all made fun of him but secretly wished we had a cheap Japanese car to track instead of the old BMWs we were running.

Also had an old boss who I helped with a "Monster Miata" conversion, if I recall correctly it was a Ford 302 with a small handful of parts to make the thing fit... It was actually fairly straightforward, but in the end I think it ruined the charm that comes along with a small revvy roadster.
