The further you get away from the refineries, the more expensive it is.

Try living in Houston, Texas. It's insanely cheap there, and rightfully so... the refineries are right there!

Makes you wonder how all the Canadians are driving. Either they are all driving hybrids, or they all get paid a ton of money from their jobs!

If gas prices got that high in the U.S. there would be some serious repercussions. I suspect the economy would start to tank.

There are people in Torrance, California who would disagree with you.

California is it's own living hell, that's for sure.

But generally speaking, I think I might be right. When I lived in Arizona, I remember how much cheaper it was compared to Oregon.

Of course states also have their own gas taxes and such, and I suspect California may have a very steep gas tax.

We’re expecting it to reach $5 here in LA pretty soon. It’s almost at $5 as of right now. I think are gas tax is above 30% but $8 a gallon that’s crazy !! I’ll defiantly stop driving my TJ

I have to agree, for that price I wouldn't be driving a Jeep unless it was once in a blue moon. That's the price point where we limit our driving entirely and/or buy a hybrid / electric vehicle.

Which is exactly what the government wants you to do. You won't support our global warming power grab agenda? We'll see about that.

Being from British Columbia, we live in the magical land of rainbows and unicorns.
Our neighbors to the east (Alberta & Saskatchewan) are blocked by BC from shipping their prime income resource (oil/bitumen) to the west coast, and access to refineries, out of country/Asian markets.
We need fuel in BC, but block the pipelines needed to get it here. Stupidest federal and provincial governments in history . . . .

American gallon is 3.7854 liters.

That plus the carbon tax and the price skyrockets. I live in Ontario and it's gone up to 1.30 here (praying for it to stop). My Jeep is my daily driver. If anyone in the states would like to smuggle gas over for me I'd be grateful.

No they aren't they already have 1 pipeline, they just want to twin it. And twinning is not to double shipments, it is to reduce the far more dangerous shipping by rail.

But the arguement is not about the pipeline. The arguement is about fortifying the spill response once it is on a ship. That arguement is even stronger from Washington State who will also be impacted if a ship runs aground. Tunnel vision Alberta and our next Federal Government only care about the $$$$. Alberta has never cared about the risk of a spill, even in Alberta.

The Alaska Valdez spill, sweet crude, was nothing compared to the heavy bitumen shipped from Albertas tar sands projects if one of those ships run aground. Forget about using dove detergent to wash the birds.

So none of you Canadian's have answered me.

Do you guys just get paid a lot more money on average or something? Is that how you're able to afford these insane fuel prices?
