I just can't escape the angry bird grille

Has anyone ever had something they saw where just the sight of it bothers them deeply? For me it used to be Kathy Griffin... that is, until the angry bird grill and all it’s offspring came along.

I can’t explain it, nor will I attempt to. I will just say that the sight of it alone makes me cringe.

Still, if anyone wants to run them, that’s your choice. I can’t help that I am so bothered by it.
I had to laugh at the Kathy Griffin comment, that's good. Ben Affleck for me.

It's disappointing when I see a trail ready rig with one. When I see Suzie Homemaker with one, I picture that JKU as a Honda Pilot.

I can’t agree more. I think the argument about lifts, winches, etc is invalid as they fit into a different category. Mods. While it cAn be argued that an AB grill is a mod, I feel that it is fundamentally different. The AB grill covers the 7 slots. The 7 slots are essentially a trademark... a logo..... a representation of the Jeep brand. It’s the equivalent of buying a Mercedes, bmw, etc and covering the front hood ornament with duct tape.

7 slots. Whats your point?

evidently the owner likes that no one is forcing you or anyone to put on their jeep so why does it get so many peoples panties all up in a wad?

You’re right. But the point of this thread is having to look at it. No one is forcing me to put it on my Jeep. But the tasteless folks that do put it on are making others look at them. And as I said in a previous post. They make the Jeep would look bad. We’re the laughingstocks of the Offroad world because of that fugly grillE.

I get what ya'll are saying and I'm not a advocate for the angry grille(seems like it now though). I just don't understand what all the fuss is about. Some like bigger tires , some like different grille.

Some like bigger tires , some like different grille.

That comparison only works if you were saying some like flat fenders and some like stock. Some like full width bumpers. Some like stuby bumpers. Some like black wheels some like chrome.
As far as the grilles. They are a joke. There is no comparison.

If a grille that someone else puts on their vehicle makes you the laughing stock of the off-road world supposedly and that bothers you then I'm sorry bud but there are some deeper issues at hand. I see pink Jeeps too, does that mean you should check the X box on your drivers license for gender since you drive a Jeep?

Denise Austin - she used to be just too freakin chipper in the morning. The wife would do exercises in the morning while watching her. Killed the mood no matter what position the wife was in.
Geraldo Rivera - amongst many other things, got kicked out of Iraq for giving our troop position away on national tv. To this day I don’t want to hear anything that punk says.
Truck balls
Yuge diesel exhaust systems
Oh I have a list.

At a Jeep meet and there was a JK owner lamenting how his vehicle was overheating on long climbs. I suggested that maybe the blockage of airflow to the radiator from the reduction of the slot grills size with the angry grill combined with the blockage of what was left by the light bar might have something to do with it.

He didn't get it though.

Chris, just come out with it already. You don't need to hide your infatuation with those grills. We all know you are trying a psychology experiment by showing us these grills, at some point we may just allow them to be "cool".
I never come across these grills or ads for these grills, yet you seem to find them daily...I think you just need to come out to us all...we are an understanding and supportive community...
C'mon buddy....It'll all be ok.

holy sanctimonious people here batman. To try to equate an angry bird grill to adding lift and bigger tires is not a fair comparison, one makes your vehicle function better for the intended purpose the other is simply glitter. I'll be the first to admit that to add a lift and big tires to drive to the mall is a waste of money.

I hate those fab four builds, looks like a frig'n armored car, all that is missing is the brinks logo on the door.

To each their own is right, including opinions and personal taste.

What next, lower a sports car to improve handling,,,pppffff, that's what under glow lights are for!

The Chevy Avalanche. I would get pissed-off every time I saw one. Took years to get over it...
I have the same anger for the redesigned Honda Ridgeline. The first gen was actually not all that bad. The new one is a Pilot with a truck bed. Eww.

Oddly enough, I didn't mind the original Ridgeline at all, though I cannot give one single reasonable explanation for it. Not one. Strange. Very, very strange...
