Wave like engine stutter

At low rpm 2nd and 3rd mainly. around 2k rpm. Light on the throttle. I get a wave like shudder. Usually after shifting gears. they are not bad shifts. they are actually great shifts. The only way to get it out of this wave like power on and off it to go full throttle until it evens out as if their is not enough air flow.
This is starting to bug.

Just lugging the engine not enough air = power to go that slow. Shifted to early or need to drop a gear

I get this in all gears though, mainly when trying to accelerate through 2000 RPMs. Every gear. Happens right at 2000 RPMS every time. Seems oddly specific for just an airflow issue.

You would think so. I do have two codes currently for Evap leaks because I lost my gas cap and bought an aftermarket one.

That might be the place to start. I would try getting rid of those first. While it might be unlikely they are related, Ockham’s Razor would have you try the simplest answer first (that they are related).

This problem has been around years before the evap leak. But yes, I do plan on fixing those codes to see if it helps.
