Found Doorman makes replacement pin kits, AZ, many others have these, ~$7.50/pr

Thanks

Hey Guys,

Yeah! for my TJ I found 1/2 steel doors that match my paint/interior, but the hinge pins (friction area) are pretty rough from rust.

Has anyone replaced just the pins or must entire hinge (ugg dealer) be replaced?

Thanks

Delrin hinge inserts would be cheaper than hinges and might be a ok compromise. Replaced mine last month.

You can replace just the hinge pins. Hammer the old ones out, hammer the new ones in. You can replace the inserts while you are at it too. Hinge pins are like 15 bucks too.

Got my delrin inserts from Quadratec I think. I thought that the pins were a permanent part of the hinge. Guess it depends on how pitted up everything is and how much you want to do. Getting the oem steel inserts out of my ‘02 hinges was hard enough.

I used a small screw driver and a hammer and went to town. I found they popped out the bottom once you got the top deformed enough.

Here’s what I did to get mine out from another thread. Have fun.

After soaking rusty hinge pins with 50-50, (acetone-PS fluid) for a day, they came out very easy with ball-peen hammer, of course new Dorman ones went in easy.
