Hi! I'm Eric, I just inherited my Dads 01' TJ when he passed a couple weeks ago. It was one of his bucket list items when he sold his Harley. I've always wanted a Jeep also, just didn't expect to get it this way. Lucy is pretty much stock with 188k miles. In damn good shape considering the mileage. IIRC Dad bought it from a guy in the service who was in Alaska and the PNW for a bit.
I'm pretty handy around a vehicle, but I'll be asking a few FNG questions as I tinker I'm sure. What are the better places for parts and accesories? I'm more familiar with Mustangs (I have 2, 2010 GT, and 1985 SVO) so I am pretty familiar with the better vendors and what not for them....

Here's a pic of Lucy

Welcome and sorry for your loss. There are a lot of parts and accessory suppliers out there. One of the most popular is Quadratec. This forum is a great resource with lots of helpful and intelligent input form very experienced and knowledgeable people. Look forward to seeing what you do with her.

That's a fine looking canvas to start from. Sorry to hear about your father, but I think his spirt lives on with this TJ, which should make you want to keep it even that much more.

As for good parts places, I know a lot of us (myself included) by a lot of stuff from Amazon.

Other than Amazon, my favorite place to get stuff from is @Garza at http://4lowparts.com, or @mrblaine if you need anything brake related.

Welcome. Please ask whatever questions you want regarding your jeep and don't worry about being a new guy to jeeps. This site is full of nice experienced TJ owners who will answer any questions you may have without the attitude. We all share knowledge freely.

Welcome to the TJ world, and I am sorry it took your dad's passing for you to obtain it. Now you can drive it with him in mind, and keep the tradition going.

Nice tires, and I have not seen wheels like that before, they are nice!

It had black NASCAR style steelies on it when he got it, he didn't care for the murdered out look. So he got these, I'll look on the center cap and put up what brand they are.
