Power being shut off to California

Why are people loading guns? Bad neighborhoods? CA sounds like a garbage area or at least parts of it, if you need to have a gun ready to kill a neighbor. Sounds worse than Beirut.

Also, a 9mm for home protection? Wouldn't a shotgun be a better choice for the house?
Why would you disparage Beirut by comparing it to California? :)

I have several that I've never been through a background check for that are not registered. If that makes me a felon, come and get me.
I think you miss understood @mrblaine. I should have said "now days" if you want to buy a gun you have to go through a 10 day background check. Before that law went into effect, a lot of guns were purchased without having to registere them or do a background check. You are correct... there are a lot of guns that are unregistered.

Ughh I have to go to Komiefornia next year for a wedding. I am REALLY dreading it. But when I get into LAX I will be sporting a MAGA hat and a politically offensive T-shirt of some sort, just have not decided yet. Could be Obama as a clown, a trump 2020 shirt, a pro 2A shirt, we will see. If I have to deal with the land of the nuts and fruits then they have to deal with a bible belt patriot.

I didn't misunderstand. I know how it works.

I work in the power industry so this sort of event is really interesting to me. Not only are they shutting down power to their customers, but they are shutting down power to the overall grid. That could cause spikes in prices because imports from NP15 (NorCal area) don't make it to SP15 (SoCal area) if there's a heat event. As reserves go down, power prices rise all over the state. So some people don't get power and the rest may get to pay more for what they get.

Our company read the writing on the wall and sold our super efficient natural gas power plant near LA at a loss then built several large utility sized solar plants down by the Mexican border. Way, way more money in that given the CA renewable mandates. The easiest money you can make short of owning a printing press.

PS: guns

Trust me, you'll fit in just fine. Sounds like you got the California attitude down just right.

Read that again. You'll blend right in.

There are some people that are tolerable im sure in your state, However me being a conservative, republican, open carrying, man of faith, and constitutionalist does not make me feel comfortable going to a state that is so repressed by bureaucratic laws it says I cant have a plastic straw for my drink, but my hard working tax dollars have to go to benefits for illegal immigrants. I dont have an issue with immigration, I have an issue with it being done illegally, as I have an issue with most things done illegally. I apologize if I have offended anyone, I believe you have a beautiful wonderful home state, I just dont belong there due to differences in beliefs. The people should control government not vice versa.

Living in rural NC and losing power during any storm let alone a hurricane always a possibility I had a whole home generator [propane powered] installed 4 years ago. One of the best investments I ever made. We just shelter in place and ride things out. The longest that it ran was a solid week one time. We ran out of propane, got refilled and power restored the same day. Wish you guys the best and be safe. And what I always tell my grandson, ‘stay frosty’.

We are a gun loving group here in Pennsylvania, just look at how thoughtful & simple we made our “2nd Amendment”: Article I, section 21 of the Pennsylvania State Constitution states: “The right of the citizens to bear arms in defense of themselves and the State shall not be questioned.”

if only the actual 2nd Amendment was so clear

True and open carry is also okay here. Just get a gun and strap it on your side. Don't see it often, but sometimes. I could care less if people want to carry. Sometimes it can work in favor and sometimes not. Lots of good weapons including a knife that can be VERY fast and just as deadly.

Definitely didn't offend. You'll see some crazy stuff in Los Angeles and quite a few MAGA hats too, it's not for everyone that's for sure but it is one place you can wear your colors and not be too worried about raising eyebrows.

Try wearing a Trump hat (or shirt) in Portland, Oregon.

I guarantee you will at the bare minimum be aggressively verbally assaulted on a number of occasions, and quite possibly physically assaulted as well. I'm not even going to say maybe... I guarantee it.

That is some scary shit, but I do believe you. When I see someone wearing a MAGA hat in Pittsburgh, I wonder if the person endures anything from it, but they probably don't. I always think of the high school kid that was on a field trip in DC wearing a MAGA hat and what he went though. He was in high school and was verbally assaulted by an extremist group and then some Indian came up to him. The kid just stood there and smiled as the Indian pounded that drum in his face. If I was that kids father and someone pounded a drum in his face, he would be answering to me and it wouldn't be pretty. Adult to adult! Of course the kid was attacked by the left to the point they were ready to kill that kid. A high school kid for goodness sake! WTF is wrong with people!

Imagine how bad it would be in Berkley. WOW.

Anyway, how many people without power? 500K? 1 million? How long?

I rock a MAGA hat from time to time. So far, nothing bad has happened. I've actually gotten a lot of compliments and handshakes.

What's gonna happen to all the Tesla owners in CA if the power is cut for days? How will the make it to Whole Foods and attend their book club meetings?

Good luck to all you California folks. When in doubt, just ask yourself WWSD (what would Snake do).

Well who didn't see that coming?

On another note, when watching the news and they arrest a criminal and have all the guns laid out for the photo shoot, they refer to it as an "arsenal of weapons." I just think of how many I have, shake my head, and think, "amateurs."
