Things you dislike on TJs?

Rust. I hate rust on my Jeep. I have it, and they seem to be inviting their friends and family to live with them too.

Hardtops and doors in summer. I have my hardtop on in winter, but once it's summer, I prefer to lower my soft top and remove my doors as often as possible. I cringe when I see another Jeep with a hardtop on in summer. (although that's what I had to do for the 1st 5 years I owned her when I couldn't afford a soft top).

I'm not the biggest fan of chrome on Jeeps. Although I used to have different chrome parts in her early years.
Then I went to black accents, black wheels, etc.
Now I'm currently trying a darker bronze, after liking the 75th Jeep Anniversary bronze accents.
My bumper in the avatar is way too bright on my 1st test, but won't change until after winter.

Not the biggest fan of logos either. I don't like either myself or my Jeep to pay to advertise some other company's product.
I don't really mind logos and stickers on other people's vehicles - it's just something I don't like on mine.

Surprisingly, I'm still not a big fan of flat fenders. I'm trying...but I still prefer a "modified stock look", if that makes any sense (stock fender, modified fender flare). I'm sure I'll try flat fenders in the next decade or two...

However, I happen to like my Angry Eyes. After hauling my butt around for 20 years in these frozen winters, I understand her bitter anger.
I also have LED headlights and I LOVE them. I would literally call them a life-saver. I bought them for functionality, and I use them for their functionality. Hitting a moose or a deer on the highway at night is a very realistic fear of mine.

Oh, this is too easy:

1. Angry eyes
2. Chrome
3. Halo headlights (these might be the thing I hate the most)
4. When the wheels stick out way further than the fender flares (I don't mind an inch or so, but some of these guys have wheels that stick out 4-5" past the flares, and it just looks so silly)
5. LED light bars over the window (I just don't care for the look.)t
6. Hi-Jack lifts mounted on the hood (the ultimate fanboy mod)
7. Low profile tires and big rims
8. Snorkels (ugh... don't even get me started)

HA! I'm quite opinionated as it turns out [emoji14]

Don't mean to offend anyone, this is just my personal opinion obviously.:emoji_thumbsup:
You read my mind.

why does everyone hate on the jack on the hood lol. I have it and use it. I have the jackmate and a jack stand in my trunk and use all three to change my tires. Way safer than a bottle jack if you use it the way I do. HATERS

I don't like trees on TJ's

Where do I start lol.

I think what I dislike the most are "display" pieces mounted externally better off kept inside, or items normally removed after you're done offroading left in place externally intentionally to impress people that your Jeep is an "offroad" vehicle. Things like externally mounted Hi-Lift jacks, shovels, axes, D-ring shackles left permanently on the bumpers, ropes wrapped around the bumper, giant battering-ram bumpers, bolted-on stingers made of skinny thin tubing, 5 gallon jerry cans mounted up so high they compromise the COG, etc.

As mrblaine would say... you can't be "billy-badass Jeeper" without your D-ring shackles left permanently mounted on your bumpers. Or Hi-lift mounted on the hood or rear bumper. :)

I think I just dislike the fake appearance of off-roading, when you don't off-road at all.

I don't mean big lifts and tires so much, I mean all the gear mounted to your Jeep (i.e. Jerry cans, shovels, jacks, etc.) when it's just for show.

I see a lot of JKs like that that are as pristine as can be. You know those guys aren't using that gear at all, it's just to show off with at the mall.

I will say a D-ring/shackle scared the crap out me the couple times when I forgot to remove it after using it. When left on the bumper while offroading, they can occasionally bang into the bumper just right so you think you just broke an axle shaft, the axle, or a suspension mount. Like "WTF was that!!!???" But then you go take a look with your heart pounding and finally figure out it was the frigging shackle just banging into the bumper.

I dislike it making noises that I'm not familiar with. That probably started with the squeak that took me two years to find. If there is a strange rattle, clunk, or squeak, I want to know where it's coming from and fix it.

I was out riding with some neighbors a few weeks ago and their Jeep just drove me nuts. It clanged, popped, squeaked, and made one hell of a racket over every obstacle and even just driving down the fire roads. I kept thinking it was mine, and my wife was getting frustrated because I would shush her to try and listen for the source of the noise.

Anything on the exterior that is not functional.......and light bars. I SO f-in hate light bars.

I also hate huge-across-the-windshield stickers of manufactures like Rough Country, Tough Country, Skyjacker, Rusty's, etc.

Oh yeah...and stingers. Oh god that awful looking nonfunctional (for 99% of the users) waste of tubing that sticks out in the way....

I have to defend my snorkel. After seeing many splashing water up and hydro locking I have been successful in not doing so. These mud and water holes up here are killers. Usually you are in them for a very short time. It has worked so far to me while for others not so much. I have had water up over the air box when going into the water several times and no problems with the one I have installed.

that's a really cool little snorkel, never seen it done like that b4. we have a lot of water and creek crossings here too and its a must. my intakes above 6FT hehe hydro locking your engine is def something you wanna take every precaution with so it don't happen. with a tarp on the front bow waves come over my bonnet and hit my windscreen hehe.

Wouldn't ur electrical be toast before you even needed a snorkel? And what about your steering wheel mechanism, isn't that a no no to get wet?
