2005 TJ Rubicon cream puff

BaT prices mostly make me scratch my head. XJs go for crazy money there.
There was one for sale a year ago in Europe that had only 4000 miles on it. Black Rubicon with a factory cell phone in it.
very clean and well kept for the area it resides in.
and that's also kinda scary, 2 owners and they changed nothing but the tires?
spent 30k and never even broke it in. then sold it to someone else who put less than 500mi in a yr and a 1/2.
41mi a month is less than 2 trips to work and back.
it kills me to see mine sit for as long as it has due to my build time, or lack of. how do you spend for 1 and just let it sit voluntarily............why'd you buy it?
if you bought it to roll it over, why sit on it for over a yr before doing so?
and the oils not been changed in 2yrs, yikes.

Some only drive them on wknds, and really don’t like driving a TJ as a daily to work and back. Really the reasons why someone does or doesn’t drive their vehicle could be endless. I bought my previous TJR with 19k miles on it and it was an 05. I didn’t question why the pilot kept his beloved Jeep in storage and used it as a summer vehicle.

i get that some only drive in pristine weather conditions and garage it for winter.
mine doesn't leave the driveway once the salt hits the pavement.
but i also bought mine to enjoy and drive, so i drive it any time i can. my worry is about the maintenance not the miles (82K on my 04).
given the issues i've read about the 05-06 model, i'd feel forced to ask about low miles. simple as that.
i think both of us could discern if it's a plausible explanation or we were being handed a crap sammich.
and maybe i'm all wrong and it's perfect, personally i'd not feel super confident, rolling those dice and buying it blind at that bid.
it's a nice looking rig, and i hope that someone ends up with a real sweet ride.

So you feel the same about every low mileage vehicle? I’ll be honest I drive 3200-3500 miles a year. That’s it. I live 4 miles from work and another 2 miles from my local gym. Sometimes even driving every day ale people don’t have a 40 mile commute each and every day. Sure something can be wrong with it, but looking at it I doubt it haha. It’s a gem I think.
A lot of TJs are weekend vehicles, and around here they usually dont venture out in the winter.
I'd bet this Rubi was exactly that. It might have even spent its life at a vacation home. It's not uncommon to see vehicles around here that spend their days in a garage at a cottage home, or lake house.
From what I can see, it's beautiful. Hopefully the next owner keeps it that way!
