First off big thanks to every one here who has put up with my questions this last week while I was looking to find info on a potential new purchase.

I recently purchased my Third jeep wranger. The fist I had was a 96 SE, many years ago, I sold it when I decided that towing arround the payments on it was just no fun. 3 or 4 years ago I got my self a 2000 wrangler and had been great until it was totaled last month. My little sister was driving and she is ok but the jeep is total so now it gets to be an organ donor.

So the new jeep is a 2001 60th anniversary edition. it was owned by an auto body guy and he repainted it. It is a little darker than the stock black based on looking in the engine bay but looks really nice. Im not a big fan of the painted flares but they look good and for now I just plan to drive it. This is my daily so I can't afford down time right now to do a lot of work. Also my toy money is all dried up for now with this purchase and fixing a few mechanical issues.

The one thing I would like to do right off is put the emblem stickers back on I think it looks naked. This is where I could use a little help in identifying what would have come stock on a 2001 60th anniversary wrangler and then a best source for them. I have found a few pics but a lot of guys I think have more stickers than it came with and i would like to start with back to stock for now.

Lots of reading ahead of me. It doesn't have Cruse control or the hard top wiring harness. there are a lot of great how to write ups you guys have done here and I am getting braver as I go with deciding to remove all the parts from my donor rig and move them over. But for now some simple things like stickers and replacing burned out bulbs.

On the stickers what about the raised letters for the Jeep it should at least have that right?

The 60th (or mine at least) doesn't have the hard top wiring, also not the CC and I would like both of those things. not that a wranger is a race car but i still tend to drive faster over time and so if I have a longer drive I use the Cruse a lot to help not get tickets.

I plan to move over my little upgrades, winch, light bar, jack mounts, luggage rack, ham radio and antenna mount, speaker bar, interior light upgrades, back up light upgrades, 1/2 doors after they are painted for summer driving, fire extinguishers, running boards (if they look ok with the stock plastic side panel or what ever that thing is called tufy box, aux switch panel, battery (it was only a few months old), stereo, alarm, speakers and amp (but I am going to mount the amp like you did to the cutting board way better than I did it. Eventually if the rims are't bent I will move them over I like them better but they have 32's on them right now and won't fit. If the seats aren't bent I will move them over the foam is in better shape, the 60 is all collapsed on the driver side. Not sure how that happened because the steering wheel and arm rest aren't worn like my 2000.


I also don't like the painted flares. I prefer the standard plastic or some thing fabricated. But the fabricated things look a little too much for me even though they are cool. On my 2000 I had wider stock looking flares so I could drive with my window down even on wet days and not have wheel spray from the wider tires. I will cross that bridge after these tires are worn out.

Actually, there were no stickers on the 60th anniversary's, just the little 60th anniversary emblems believe it or not. No decals though, as the packages they offered on the TJ were generally nothing more than emblems, different seat covers, and painted flares, Dana 44 rear axle, etc.

That TJ in the photos looks totaled for sure. What are you using the parts for? Is that 60th anniversary TJ not running or something? Maybe I missed that.

I'm also not a fan of the painted flares on these things, but that was part of the 60th anniversary package, and it's certainly easy to get new fender flares so that they aren't painted

Anyways, if I didn't already say so, welcome to the forum!

OP should have kept that '96, because that's an ultra rare "they didn't make them that model year" TJ. Love the '01 though.

hahah ok good call, maybe it was a 97? hahah it was a long time ago. I just recall that it was so cool not having leaf springs on them any more, it seemed like such a modern thing. But the payments were murder and a kid making minimum wage should never have qualified for that loan and I had to sell it, and I missed it ever since.

They skipped model year 1996 with the Wrangler while still preparing for the retooled TJ and getting ODBII ready. They did release '97s in '96 though which is why you might be confused. I am with you, because I was really excited for a Wrangler with coils all the way around and special ordered my '97.

If you want original find the correct steps, those hoops are so out of place. I'm not a fan of tacked on trim but I've always liked the rocker trim on those old TJs.

I may not be recalling the year/model right but it was late 90's and had coil springs all around. Also only a 4 banger when I sold it I promised my self I would own another but never another 4 banger and here we are at lucky number 3

I'm out side of Eugene Oregon.

I don't exactly like these steps. the donor had what I thought were nice big tube steps, and unfortunately the driver side isn't true any more. Maybe they were 3" rugged ridge brand looking at catalogs. I thought those looked a lot better than these silly things.

If you're going to call me out on reading comprehension, you should make sure you comprehend. I don't want to turn this thread into a bitch fest, but notice he said it had coil springs. Hence it was a TJ, and hence there's no way it was a '96 or a YJ. Come on man...

Again, I love the '01 OP. Thanks for posting pics of it.
