Has anyone used seat risers?

I’ve got the 1.5” Buchanan risers installed on my drivers seat only. I love it! I’ve had the seat lifted for the past 3 years. I did have the riser installed on the passenger seat but my wife said it made it hard to get into the seat because it was too tall.
BTW... I’m 6’ 0” tall and the Jeep has a 4” lift. My wife is 5’ 7”. It was a bit of a stretch for her to get in with the riser.

However, the beauty of it is, she no longer wants to drive my Jeep because it’s too hard to get into. 😂

One random comment ..seat risers make a TJ feel like a CJ a little more...not so "down in it " feeling...and I'm used to that feel from years back.

Just want to post about a Seat Riser Kit. My daughter is 5'2 and the sun visor doesn't help at the factory seat height. So I decided to install the 2 inch Supreme Suspension riser kit. I must say what a difference. Almost makes me feel like the whole Jeep Wrangler has been lifted.
The only issue with my install was that one of the bolts from Jeeps factory build, was a cross threaded bolt and I had to tap it.
The install besides that would have only taken half hour per side.
One warning is if others that drive the Jeep are over 6 feet tall, the tilt wheel won't get the steering off you legs.
Second the street signal lights, if your too close will be out of view. You will have to lean down to see the red and maybe yellow.
Otherwise the kit is easy to install and very sturdy.
Just wondered if anyone else has used a seat riser kit?
Why waste money on a kit-—-I used a stack of large area washers

I added Buchanan risers shortly after buying my LJ. It significantly improved seating position and visibility.

Most expensive option I know ($60 shipped) of but it's also the best built kit I've seen. The guy who sells this kit is very local to me and a veteran. Buy American..... I'm 6' and aside from visibility on the trail, I've never had an issue. Wouldn't want to swap them in and out as needed, though. Point: if I was to ever buy a kit it would be this one.
X 2 - I bought these based on @ ejay's recommendation. The quality of the kit is excellent with great hardware, So nice to be able to see over the end of the hood.

I put seat risers in soon after getting my jeep- about the first mod. Main reason was to get my elbow above the door inside handle/strap that kept chaffing my elbow. (alternative was to put in half doors). It also greatly improved my view of the trail hazards. Best mod so far.
Please note however- no two people have same body style even at the same height. I am only fraction of inch taller than my wife and yet I am long leg /short trunk--she is short leg/long trunk- don't ignore this. The seat height is perfect for me with more legroom and visibility yet her head touches the soft top. I need to remove the passenger side seat billet blocks for her.
Also- one thing I did not care for much is when I crawled under to final inspect- the bolts that come with the kit were too short- they lack about 2 turns of thread coming all the way through- that cannot be kosher.

My gf is 8” shorter than me and did not want her seat raised.

When she drives my truck she puts the seat all the way down, I drive with it all the way up.

Different strokes I guess

I installed a set of 1" billet aluminum risers about a month ago from StreetRays on Ebay. Good quality and good price. After installing them, I can't believe it took me almost 16 years to do this. The view from the drivers seat feels more like my '83 Scrambler did (and that's a good thing).

I put in the SS 1.5" risers. I'm 6'1" and enjoy seeing the front edge of the hood now. I don't really have any issue with ingress or egress and I still get 2 clicks down on the tilt steering.

Just out of curiosity, anyone know what size risers would restore an '03 to the same height as the earlier years?

I'm 5'11, 6 feet on a good day. Just sitting next to a ruler in my Jeep I'm thinking the 1.5" risers would be about right.

Hmmmm... I'm 6'5" with 36" inseam... I'm thinking this isn't for me... I actually have the big boy seat rails installed that push the chair back 4". My head is also already at the roll cage... but my wife is 4'11"... might be nice for her on the passenger seat? What are the best kits out there? Cheers.

I 3d printed a set of 2" risers for my driver's seat and left the passenger side alone. I may do 1.5" for both at some point just to have level seats for strapping my soft top duffel bag to when running with the top down.

I am just like you Stretch. I am 6'6" and put risers in just because I have a short wife and daughter that need them to be able to drive comfortably. I would rather not have them. My head is up there with the roll bars but my son is about 6'2" and likes the risers.

So glad I stumbled onto this thread. I was actually looking for ways to get a lock box for an 06 with dual fold and tumble fronts since there's no dang room under the seats. After seeing this thread, I jumped in my buddies 99...couldn't be THAT much of a difference, right? Geez. Night and day. I've had TJs since December 03 (Brand new 04 and later traded to an 06) 16 years....had no idea. Buchanan's 1.5 inch kit installed Saturday and life is good. I'm 6 foot exactly. The one inch kit would have been just fine. 1.5 I'm a little above center in the windshield but that's nitpicky....probably just me sitting way up straight out of habit due to factory seats. The boss is 5'6 and is loving it too. Thanks folks!

Tuffy makes a box for the flip/fold seat, but it's smaller than the one for the non- flip/fold. Do you think raising the seat will allow for the longer box, or are there other things in the way?
At 6', I really don't need to raise mine. I might just switch to a non flip seat bracket.
