Those are easy things to keep everyone moving.

a 10 dollar curt hook bolted to the rear frame will save someone from breaking something else due to improper recovery.

a 20 dollar amazon strap without metal hooks will keep the whole group moving safely when a quick tug back/forward is needed.

not saying we need tech inspections in the AM but should wheel responsibly
I get ya, maybe good info or Links posted on the first page about proper recovery gear, tools, fire extinguishers?
I’d say 80% of us will have everything to help anyone out.
I love going wheeling but each time I go I learn something; especially back when I was wet behind the ears. Jeepers help me out and point out upgrades and spent my money. And drank my beer and jerky

I think there will be enough of a range of rigs that guys less equipped can still go on a "safe" trail. Heck, I've ran everything in moab and would love to even take the stock guys on trails at their level if they show up! Scenery makes moab, not how hard the rocks are. Sure they are amazing trails but if you want gnarly slick rock, you go to sand hollow.
I totally agree, my jeep is a bit beyond stock but still enjoy the mild trails especially if the scenery is the main attraction which the wife is interested in.

I’ll also not rock the boat on beer on the trail. I’m not sure who you guys wheel with but I just promise if I have a beer on the trail no one will know about it lol

Had a guy TOTAL another persons Jeep on a trail run once because the idiot was DRUNK. I enjoy an beer on the trail now and then too but as always it is the idiots who can't control themselves who ruin it for the rest of us. I'm not going to call you out for having beer. It's the guy who shows up with a 30 can case on his cooler rack and it's empty by the end of the trail that is the problem.

I’m thinking Golden Spike for appropriately built rigs. Makes for a little longer day, but you get to knock out 3 trails in 1. (Poison Spider, Golden Spike itself, and Gold Bar Rim/Rusty Nail) Plus it tends to not be as packed as trails like Hell’s Revenge. On big weekends, it’s not uncommon to be stuck in traffic jams.

As far as drinking on the trails.

from my offroad experience. which isnt much. the first time i went wheeling, and saw people drinking while wheeling, honestly, it just made me uncomfortable, and it has ever since. Alcohol + keys in the ignition = a no go, everytime.

Do what you want. and i will too. Yay america. :)

Situational awareness.
out here in MendocinoNF I wouldn’t think twice about having a beer on FS roads. 1 per hour. I got a Class A license so I know its weight vs time. Hell I’ve had a beer with a ranger. But if it’s not allowed in Ut well there we go. No open container ticket is worth it.

Yeah its crazy...but we have kept our numbers pretty low here... our prime minister (like a President) has said it may open the international gates to Ausssie but that's it.....Guess we will have to wait an see.

My favorite destination (Iceland) is pretty tiny. They're opening their gates on June 15th.

Have hope!

yeah like @Wildman said. i wont bag anyone for having one. but also like he said, its those guys who boast " i have consumption control" that end up ruining what would have otherwise been a fantastic time.

I'm not saying thats YOU @Thunderhead
The last time i went to an OHV park i was wheeling with a police officer who had some beers while we were wheeling. i dont think he even drank 3 all day while we were out.
once we got back to camp, needless to say, the cooler got about empty :ROFLMAO:

Yea no I get it. I wouldn’t want to wheel with someone’s who is trashed either.
That cop must have the same 3 limit my wife makes my have, she packs me a lunch and 3 beers for a day trip in the mountains lol

Edit. If open container laws are enforced , and I lived there for a few years so I’m sure they are, old thunderhead has not problem drinking water

Is PBR really alcohol? Lol!

I enjoy a nice cold beer with lunch. On the trail, I pack exactly 2 beers. One for lunch, and a spare if a jeep buddy is thirsty. The rest is bottled water. Don't want this topic to get too weird, but it's understandable for those who either don't drink beer, or those who are recovering alcoholics would be uncomfortable being around those who do have a beer.

Have we brought up a any minimum requirements ?

things that come to mind that we require for our club
Strap with Loops (no hooks)
Front / Rear recovery points
Fire extinguisher

There is a thread that Chris has already linked to on the first post that has suggested gear...but it's all suggested not mandatory. That said, I think we can all agree that recovery points, front and rear, should be a very strong suggestion.
