I've installed a rebuilt 4.0l motor in my 01 Tj. Prior to buying it, it sat for 2.5 years on a driveway with the gas tank mostly full. Before connecting the fuel line to the rail, I squirted some gas into a rag and found that it smells of varnish. My problem is how do i get all of the gas out of the tank to replace it with fresh before i start the motor for its first time. I've tried pushing a hose into the tank to siphon but it wont go all the way in. Any ideas?

X2. Get some hose pullers , they are like large picks , sold by Gates, and go easy, work it around the neck.

You can also disconnect the fuel line and power the fuel pump until the tank is empty.
