The only pacifiers we have let them use are those NUK ones. They are orthodontist recommended as they have a shape to them that doesn't interfere with the teeth.
I had braces when I was younger but was a bum and didn't wear my retainer as religiously as I should have. I have a developing crossbite and was recently quoted 7k for fixing that + Invisalign. I thought that was crazy and never called that place back but now I'm having second thoughts

No kidding, clearly I picked the wrong business to be in.
My Invisalign alone (which I got off just about a year ago) cost me $6500.
Needless to say I wear my retainer religiously, every single night. No way I'm going to even miss a day with as much as this cost me!
So from what I've seen the Invisalign comes in sets that slowly change the teeth with each additional set. How long or how many "sets" did $6500 do for you? Just curious how the dentist can quote me for that if I only end up needing 6 months of treatment to get back where I was.
Yep, that’s how it works. Initially I had 40 sets, each set lasting about 2-3 weeks. However, things change during the progress and I had to have another 20 sets added.
It’s impossible for them to say for sure how many sets you’ll end up having. They can predict it upfront, but it rarely turns out being accurate. The good thing though is that you don’t get charged anymore should you need more sets.
Invisalign was completely painless though and most people couldn’t even tell I had it.
I had normal braces back in the 90s and I can tell you that Invisalign is soooo much better. Of course I screwed up the first time when I was younger and didn’t wear my retainer enough. Like I said, won’t make that mistake again!
Her smile looks great, Money well spent! My wife is currently waiting for her first set of corrective retainers from Invisalign to come in as we speak
If it wasn't for my upper partial I would look like I was from Kentucky. That being said I could've got what my Uncle got, he had all his teeth pulled then had posts, his dentures snap onto the posts 12k. My Dentist said if I wanted I could go with dentures that are bolted in, and only a dentist can remove, I think it was close to 20k.

Dentures was an option as well. The kind they use now are like you said, they implant posts in your jaw and then you get dentures that snap on to the posts. This is much better than the old school dentures that could easily come out.
He told us however that as a dentist, his first goal is to save any natural teeth before dentures. Back in the day he said a dentist would just pull all the teeth, but they try to avoid that nowadays. In the end, she at least has all her real front teeth, they just have crowns on every one of them.

Dentist want everyone to keep their natural teeth because they make far more money on them then dentures
same reason there isnt a cure for cancer, or is there ??

I have all mine bolted in. Posts in the jawbones and little screws hold uppers and lowers in. Now a dentist visit every six months where they unbolt them, toss them in a parts washer, wipe them off and bolt them back in. Done in about an hour, at about $150. All this after braces when I was younger, broken jaw, broke teeth, and constant visits after that. Yanking them all out was best decision for me. I’ve got 50k worth as well.
The dentist I was going to wanted to do two teeth a month. All I heard was blah blah money, blah blah more

I have enamel hypoplasia and needed all of my teeth crowned. Took me years to get it done at a cost of over $30k. My adult teeth had very thin and rough enamel and I never smiled. It was of those things I was committed to doing for myself, spread out over time. If I would have know about dental tourism I would have saved a fortune and got it done way sooner. I have been traveling to Mexico for vacation since 2006. Several of my friends have done "dental vacations" and had great feedback on service, quality of work, and most importantly price.

We've been trying to convince my dad to get implants for 10 years. He has more money than he can spend, but won't spring for the $30K his dental group wants for implants. I guess that's how he got more money than he can spend!
I had most of my uppers permanently implanted in the Navy after years of wearing a partial plate when i smashed my face in as a kid. Don't even know what it cost, but what a difference in quality of life! They had a program going for reconstructive surgeries and called me out of the blue to evaluate me for implants. A few reconstructive surgeries later, i had a new face and new teeth.
Thank you for you tax dollars paying for my new teeth!

If you need dental work or implants I seriously recommend you get started. The quality of life and long term health benefits are worth the cost.
