Hey everyone! I have attached an excel file of the equipment I believe will constitute as a starting point for my Suspension Lift and BL. I will notate here incase the photo doesn't load exactly what I have on the purchase list.
  • 2" Old Man Emu HD Suspension Lift Kit (Truly ~2.5" Suspension Lift)
  • Savvy 1.25" Body Lift
  • 1" Brown Dog Super Flex Rubber MML
  • Metalcloak Front Track Bar
  • Metalcloak Rear Track Bar
(Not included in that list is the home-made bumpstops using grade 8 hardware and hockey pucks discussed on another thread).

Is there visibly anything you see missing here I should add? Double Adjustable Control arms will come later but for ~2.5" and 1.25" BL this should be fine. I understand I don't need extended rear sway links at this lift size and the driveline will be stock until I start the TT. I do have plans to purchase the Currie Antirock in August, but in the very beginning of July is when I plan on doing my SL & BL.

The Vehicle in question is a 1998 TJ Wrangler with stock suspension at 160k miles (Heavily worn out), planning to run 33x10.5x15 tires on a 15x7 Rim with 3.75" BS (AR23 American Racing Rim).

Additional Notes: The pricing is true and reflective on utilizing July 4th for Free shipping and using forum related discounts for the SL.

Do you have the wheels yet? If not I would suggest going up to 15x8, you can still run 31x10.5 tires but it would allow you to run 33x12.5 down the road if you ever decided to. With 15x7 you would not have that option.

So, when's this going to happen?
I am making the metalcloak purchase on July 4th for free shipping. I've never tackled a suspension or body lift ever but hopefully during the second week in july I can tackle this. If I am lucky one of my local jeep club members may help out!

Edit: the reason for mentioning the metalcloak purchase is because that is the last thing I will purchase, causing the delay in the install.

Make sure you have both SAE and metric size tools, our TJs use both.

Just take your time and pace yourself, you can pull it off solo, especially with a lift. I did my lift solo, and was lucky to have access to a lift at work on the weekend. A coil spring compressor is nice to have for the front, but not a deal breaker. You can usually rent them from the parts store. I cheat and use a couple lengths of 3/8" chain and some bolts/washers/nuts and a poor man's compressor.

It's nice to have another set of hands and another mind if you've never done it before. Otherwise, be patient, and if you can't figure something out don't force it, walk around, make a post o the forum and it will come to you or someone will post an answer.

I had no automotive experience and have removed my coil springs twice in the last five months, changed my shocks, added bumpstop, added relocation trackbar bracket and added a new adj trackbar. You can do it! But it would be nice to have some help. My 11 yr old twins helped me 1st time and BIL second time.

I had some spring compressors from auto store but did not need them.
