Mirrors with no doors?

In the summer time I like to take off my doors. Problem with that is that then I have no side mirrors! Is there an option out there for the days where us TJ owners want to run no doors but still have mirrors?

Love to see what some of you guys are using.

I go with a pair of trailering add on convex mirrors about 4" in diameter. They come with a variety of options to bolt on to an old school tractor trailer metal frame. And I use a pair of carriage bolts to attach them thru the door hinge.

A few years ago I broke 1 mirror. Took it to the glass shop and they cut a flat mirror to fit. The view was so much clearer without that "objects are closer than they appear", that I did the other mirror too.

Seems like a pretty easy DIY solution! I'll have to look into that in preparation for next Summer.

Here it is on my YJ

On my TJR I mounted them to the Tubular door frame.
And in hindsight I think the right side would be unusable on a TJ because the dash is deeper.

Ahhh, I see exactly how you've rigged that up. Simple but very effective.

I use these outlaw Mirrors they're alright they kinda shake when I drive and they're hard to adjust quite right and I have to keep tightening the mirror on the the post but then again they're like 10 years old and have been smacked on tree trunks so maybe it's just the abuse that I've provided them. I would buy them again though.

Those look like some nice mirrors! I'll have to look into a set myself since this was a topic that also interested me as I regularly go without doors in the Summer!

I like em because most of the mirrors available use a bolt to hold them on but these use a screw with an Allen head so you just need a small Allen wrench to put them on and I just keep it in my glovebox and the mirrors under the seat so I can take the doors off whenever I want and have mirrors

These mirror movers work great too, they give an additional mounting point for the OE mirrors located on the windshield hinge. I used them on my last TJ and they worked really well.

Ahhh, that's a bummer because mine is an 04 and those only work with the earlier 97-02 style mirror.

Still, pretty darn good idea!

My son in law just ordered these for my 97. I personally don't see the need cause if you have no doors you can just look but I do like hte look of them. Can't wait to get them

the law.... "vehicles manufactured with doors must be equipped with doors"
the last vehicle you could drive without doors in BC, a CJ5.

It goes even farther with tubular doors but thats another story. Tubular doors were ruled illegal in Provincial Court.... since they do not seal to block exhaust and since almost every manufacturer states "for offroad use only"..... read the Warrior Door Spec.

Thankfully most police have real crime concerns but every now and then, the county mounty who missed qualifying as a real cop finds an easy mark to bully. Pretty sad we even consider hiring them.

Sounds like most of the cops in the states too. 99% of the time they'll never bother you for little stuff, but every so often you run into that one asshole cop who has nothing better to do.

My favorite is our local police. Zhills is city limits is 4.8 sq miles and we have 34 police officers. get the picture of too much free time? I've gotten 2 tickets on my bike (aka bicycle not motorcycle) already. However we also don't have any noise laws in the city. Cars drive around blaring that foul rap and they say we can "ask" them to turn it down. Last week one stopped next to me at light and asked me to turn down radio. First 2 times I said sorry can't hear you then when I turned it down and he asked I laughed and said it's only that loud when you stop. Ha-Ha once in a while it's nice to be a rebel. I don't push it too far cause it Florida you can only attend defensive driving school 5 times to avoid points on your license and I've used mine up a few years back.
