hi, I'm looking for some help deciphering trim code K5AZ. The paint code is PR4 (Red) but I can;t tell if the trim was black or gray as it's faded. Anyone know?

thanks

I guess my question didn't have much in the way of details. Sorry :) . I'm trying to figure out the color of the fender flares, side mirrors, hard top, etc. Mine are gray now but could have been black at one time. Was gray an option for these items?

What trim level is your jeep? The painted flares came on special edition and Sahara models. All the other models had black fender flares. These fade in the sun over time and appear to be gray on a lot of older jeeps.

They will either be black or gloss painted to match the exterior paint color. If they are gray they are faded black plastic flares, just put a heat gun on them. They will turn black again and last for a year or so ... then just do it again.

Hello everyone. First post here, only been with a wrangler for a couple months now.

Just want to add this, my 2005 came with code k3cs med khaki solid flares. So I would double check before I tried to turn them black again with a heat gun or torch. Mine also looked grayish until i used some back to black and the khaki color came back a bit.

You can heat gun them, but properly painting them the color you want them will last longer.

I tried that on my previously owned X, and it didn't do squat. Either the heat gun I used was totally ineffective, or the flares were toast from sitting in the Arizona sun, where the Jeep came from.
