How much should I level my TJ?

I just recently bought my first tj. 2004 unknown lift 33x12.5 tires on 15x10 wheels. According to chart i found online my springs measure out to be a 2-2.5" lift. I want to level it out but don't know much about spring spacers. Any help is appreciated.

Determine how much higher you want the front to sit and buy the appropriate size spacers. I never go over 1", even with a winch and heavy bumper. Pic shows heavy bumper and winch with 1" spacers after 6 years.

Thanks. I measured from tub to ground behind front tire and in front of rear and got 1.25 difference. I was thinking a 1" spacer.

Still trying to find out more on the springs on it but no luck so far. I just know there's a big gap between back tire and flare for 33's. From top of tire to flare is 5.5 inches.

I’d forget about those measurements you’re doing & just measure the springs themselves to determine how much lift over stock you have, I think stock is 8 rear/12 front but someone will correct that if it’s wrong.

You’ve got a few things going on there besides the lack of details as to what you have and/or how old it may be. Add to that a heavier than stock front bumper weighed down more by the winch, together you’re probably 100lbs or more over stock on those front springs. Combine that with the factory rake & it’s certainly making your nose dip a good bit.

If leveling it out is what you’re after you can do what most do & put spacers up front as you’re considering, or you can put a one inch taller spring up front. Springs by & large are relatively inexpensive so I’d be considering replacing them all anyway, shocks too while you’re at it, to start with a clean slate.

I measured the springs as well as I could seems to be about 2" over stock on back but fronts hard to tell. That bumper and 12k winch is heavy. Eventually as funds allow I'll be replacing tires and wheels to get rid of the spacers.

I'm with Willy here. Unless you swap out the bumper and switch to synthetic line, I'd be looking at a heavier duty spring up front. You're easily at 150+ lbs on the nose. And, most importantly, welcome to the family!

You could replace the front springs with heavier if you plan on staying in the 2-2.5" lift range. But I would add spacers to the front and drive it for a while before deciding if you want to go taller or not. No reason to waist money on shorter springs and then decide to go 4" soon after.

I leveled mine out with a set of 4 .75" cheapo spacers off Amazon. I put 2 on the front to pick it up .75" and have 2 in the parts box.

I used a heavy 2.5" OME spring set on my LJ and with the front spacer I get 3.25" of lift in front and 3.5" in the rear when unloaded.

The amount of effort to add spring spacers and replace springs is roughly the same.

But I wouldn't doubt 4.75" has been used at some point by someone.
