My right turn signal indicator in the instrument cluster stopped working. I figured it was a bulb so I removed the cluster, replaced the bulb, and it still does not work. The turn signals on the outside of the vehicle still work as they should. Is it possible this problem is caused by the multi-function switch? Any suggestions would really be appreciated, this is driving me nuts.

Probably an obvious answer, but I'll ask anyways. Does the right turn signal still work (and make the blinking noise when it's on), it's just the bulb that doesn't work?
Yes, the right turn signals work outside the vehicle, and I still hear the clicking noise of the blinker. Just no light on the right turn indicator.
Hmmm, I wonder if it's a relay issue or a connection issue on the back of the gauge cluster by chance. That's always possible.
Sounds like a connection issue with the twist socket behind the gauge cluster that holds the bulb.
Yep, I'm leaning towards a connection issue as well. I'd check those connectors and even go over them with a wire brush (incase there is any corrosion on them).
I have the exact same problem in my 01. It started to happen intermittently and then the right indicator on the inst cluster stopped working. Replaced the multi function switch, replaced all the bulbs (twice), fiddled with the connector pins 5 or 6 times. No luck.
I note the there doesn't appear to be a seperate bulb for right and left. Looking at the position of the bulb and the position of the arrow on the front there doesn't appear to be any direct correlation.

I know you might roll your eyes at this..but have you tried putting the (bad) right turn bulb in the left turn bulb socket and see if the problem follows? or put the (good) left bulb in the right bulb socket.
Our Jeeps are notorious for little electrical gremlins like this, that's for sure.
You know what I would do? Get a test light out, take the cluster out (but still leave it plugged in), and test to make sure you're getting power to that specific light in the instrument cluster when you turn on your turn signal.
That way you'll at least know if you're getting power there or not.

Yes, no matter what bulb or socket I replace it with. No light for the right turn signal in the cluster only.
So it sounds like the actual socket or contact in the socket is bad. Wonder if there is anything in the service manual about troubleshooting the cluster...
This is great, but I would bet it would call for a new cluster if it tested bad at the socket but good behind the cluster.
Yep, you're probably right. But at least then you'd know you need a new cluster!
If someone was good enough with soldering and electronics, it's possible they could fix it I suppose.

Fixed yet? If not try turning of hazards and see if it works then, if it does it may be the multifunction switch. The 4 ways should bypass the MF. I can check the wire diagram at work tomorrow.

I am having a similar problem but its both my blinkers not coming on inside the brake light still works and the paths are all clear no corrosion blubs are fine as well

I have the same issue with my 1999 TJ wrangler. The external blinkers work, and have have the blinker noise. On the gauge cluster the LEFT gauge cluster blinker indicator works, but the RIGHT gauge cluster indicator light is out.
I have the same problem. On my 99 Jeep Cherokee the right and left turm lights work fine but the dashboard the right indicator stopped working (left inicator still works}. Any resolutions to these issues?
