Pictures are through a PVS-14 (single tube) but most of my use is a set of bnvd-1531 goggles. I'm local to L3 Harris and managed to get the hookup on a couple cool night vision units.
That's awesome. I'd love to add a set but I keep buying jeeps and jeep stuff. I have to settle for my thermal for now.Pictures are through a PVS-14 (single tube) but most of my use is a set of bnvd-1531 goggles. I've been using an infrared flashlight attached to my side mirror. It throws enough light to give some added shadowing (really helpful offroad to make up for the loss in depth perception). My buddy just added some Black Oak IR lights to his jeep and they're pretty impressive. First picture is with my flashlight, second picture is the Black Oak unit (trees are 200ish yards away for reference). That's awesome. I'd love to add a set but I keep buying jeeps and jeep stuff. You consider adding IR lights to the vehicle? Used to follow a guy on ARFCOM that was building that kind of setup.
Looks great, I'm jealous.I've been using an infrared flashlight attached to my side mirror. when I saw the pictures I was going to comment that whatever your using looks way better than the POS pvs-14s the Marine corps issues... I guess they just don't perform the same after being beat to shit by a hundred lance corporals.Pictures are through a PVS-14 (single tube) but most of my use is a set of bnvd-1531 goggles. The technology has come a long way, even in the last five years. Those pictures are through a new high spec white phosphor tube, and when I'm driving it's with a set of the goggles. A definite improvement from the old green units.when I saw the pictures I was going to comment that whatever your using looks way better than the POS pvs-14s the Marine corps issues... Have you gotten a chance to try any of the new white phosphorus double tubes? Its like watching 1080p Television in black and white.
Nope, it's just a hell of a lot of fun. It's dark 50% of the day, why not have something that let's you see like it's daytime. You're not limited to the distance a light can illuminate - the night vision makes things visible as far as the eye can see.Be it cool as heck why are you driving around with NVGs? are you working on some immersion or sneaking drugs through the woods?
No weapon with an acog is gonna have a mounted pvs14 there are to many reasons not to do that.....shall we discuss! lolThe PVS 14 can also be weapon mounted in tandem with low power optics like an ACOG.
