New member intro: I drove Pete home from Colorado a few weeks ago. Pete has just 55.5k miles and is mostly stock, except for the 3-inch lift.
Here is Pete meeting his newly-adopted brothers. His other family members include an Rx-8, 335i and Sienna (black sheep of the family).
The 77 Wagoneer (fuel-injected 401) is my around-town crusier and occasional camping transport, while the 97 TJ (4.0 5-spd) has been my daily driver since 2000 - running strong with 145k trouble-free miles. I have 3 sons, two of which are now driving. They want to drive the TJ instead of our minivan (go figure) ... which of course I turned into an upgrade opportunity for me
. Otherwise, I might have driven that TJ for another 100k miles. It has been so good to me, I feel kinda guilty passing it on. Hopefully, it will survive these next few years in the hands of teenage drivers and live to a ripe old age.
My evolution into a Jeep guy was gradual and quite accidental, as I always leaned more towards muscle and sports cars in my youth. It started with an 85 CJ7 in the late 90s and since then I've been hooked on driving without windows and doors whenever the weather is good. That is much of the year here in NC, except for rain which can appear at any minute, any day in spring, summer and fall.
I've already gained a lot of useful knowledge on this form and I'm sure I will have a lot of questions as I make Pete more to my liking.

- audio upgrades (Insane Audio?, speakers and sub?)
- soft two-piece doors
- LED conversion (Hella H4 headlight lenses, etc)
- rear floor mats & cargo mat
- soften the suspension - dunno what suspension the PO put on this, but it rides like it's on the trail on every road
- Gr8tops Safari Cab and soft-windows
