Anybody up for a random meme dump?

I have always had respect for truck drivers and what they do to keep everything going, not really having much of a home life and putting up with traffic and inconsiderate drivers pulling out in front of them and not stepping on it, but had no idea something like this was part of it. I always...

How many of you have removed the rear seat and seatbelts?

Seat and center belt mount came out the day after I purchased my used 98 TJ but I left the shoulder belts in. If I am concerned about rain later in the day while I am out I put my half door windows standing up on each side up against the wheel tubs with the belt around them and can still have...

    Extended cranking time

Just as a little note here because I have 4 different kinds of older vehicles that some may sit a week or two in between being driven. It has become natural to me when getting into one of them for the first start in a while to put in the key and turn the key switch to the ON position a couple...

2000 TJ 4.0 fuel pump issues

U-Haul two wheel dollies you can put the front wheels on used to not be very expensive for a day if that might be an option if it seems to crank over and build oil pressure. You might have a deal.

Intermittent Erratic Cluster ~ Airbag light, CEL, Speedo & Tach drop out, 'no bus' in ODO.

I think you will find it is a fairly common data buss problem that frequently can be hard to track down. There are several threads here that might give you items to check if you do some researching. Good luck to you.

What is considered lugging the 4.0?

My totally stock 98 TJ, 4.0 5 speed with 3.07 gears must have the "Tractor Motor" some people talk about. It is has a lot of torque at low RPM without lugging. In fact this motor seems to have a flatter power band than most of the various vehicles I have owned. The recommended by some here of...

    98 TJ gauges not working

Some things I forgot to add in my last post. My main computer has been replaced, made no change. There are times when my tach and speedo go to zero, but the 4 small gauges still work correctly, then other times everything goes off just like turning off the switch, then when they start back...

    98 TJ gauges not working

I have been working to find my culprit for a couple years now on my 98 TJ. It comes and goes. I have tried all the common things posted in other places here, sometimes it works a while, sometimes not. It does look like my sockets have been changed out previous to me owning this jeep and they...

How big and heavy of an antenna can a tail-light mount handle?

I have been running a 4' Firestick for 2M ham radio which has most of the winding at the top with a spring mount for a couple years with no problems. It does lean back a little at highway speed. I am sure others will be in here soon with other experiences. Good luck to you.

    Leaking Injector?

My 98 has a schrader valve. I just happened to have an old set of R-22 freon gauges that one of the lines fit. I kept them hung high during the test and open for drying after using. Good luck to you.

    WTB: working seatbelts

Mine is an older 98, Not sure which part you have that is not working. Once or twice a year I extend mine all the way and spray a little silicone lubricant in the mechanism and work them a little and do the same with the latches that get contrary. I removed my back bench but left the side top...

    CB Install Help (Poor Reception?)

A lot of your antenna is up close to your metal body parts which is absorbing a lot of your signal (grounding it out) for both receive and transmit and may be affecting your SWR on transmit. This is why you need to mount the base up higher to get above as much metal as you can. Many people use...

    Hidden Radio Antenna

Dang, can't find my picture. For all you ham guys out here, somewhere I have a picture of a 21ft tall Commercial Commscope DB224 4 lobe 2m antenna clamped on the back of my EZ-GO golf cart for final testing before we had it installed. It is now our receive antenna sticking 15 ft above the top...

    Brakes are constantly applied

You also might want to look at replacing your front brake flexible hoses. My 1998 TJ had a hose flake off inside and acted almost like a check valve and would not fully release the pressure on one side. It looked good from the outside. Oddly I have a 2000 Dodge pickup that did the very same...
