Which front chromoly shafts for Dana 30?

I bought USA standards off Amazon about five years ago. Just looked and there’s some 20% discount available that gets them down to about $415.

    Help diagnosing vibrations and wobble

If you slip the stock driveshaft off the splines from the transfer case, it will leak?

    Help diagnosing vibrations and wobble

Were the tires new with the lift? First thing I'd check is maybe a wheel weight somehow came off even though it seems pretty unlikely. Can you get to a tire shop going slower than 40? After that, and assuming this is really not felt in the steering and thus not typical death wobble, the new...

Looking for threads about speaker and stereo upgrades

The general consensus I've seen is the polk db speakers have high efficiency to get the most out of the speakers without an amp. I have these and I'm pretty happy with it. Also one of the smaller powered subs from kicker or kenwood can round out the sound and are easy to take out when you need...

    Suspension Setup Questions

"I set my new control arms to the same length as the rough country ones that I took out but added about 1/4 inch in length" This is fine for a starting point. Just keep in mind that the advantage of the adjustable control arms is the ability to control your caster angle in the front (also pinion...

Looking for threads about speaker and stereo upgrades

"Just a note on the rockford speakers. The connection tabs (large ones) are too big for the harness i just mentioned. i chewed Crutchfield a little about not telling me that." It probably took a lot longer to get in touch with Crutchfield and complain than it took to just put the correct wire...

Clunk when accelerating from a stop

If it goes away when you hold down the lever then it’s probably just the linkage. You can try replacing the bushings for dirt cheap if you don’t want to go immediately for the cable upgrade. https://www.4wd.com/v/jeep-wrangler-tj/transfer-case-shift-lever-bushing/_/N-1sisxZcm036

Is a diode needed for dual battery setup if I want two options to bridge?

Check out marine stuff. These are used all the time to run a dedicated start battery and a second battery for accessories. Use a battery rated as combo for both start and deep cycle for your second battery. https://www.bepmarine.com/en/Products/Battery-Management/Voltage-Sensing-Relays

Amount of oil between safe and add on dip stick

If I’m doing maintenance I’m gonna try my best to do it right but to each their own. Interesting that you normally add 4.5 quart. I’m usually right around 5.5 quart so I always buy a 5 quart jug and I have another 5 qt I bought a couple years back that I use to top it off after adding the first...

Amount of oil between safe and add on dip stick

Is there a specific amount of oil that will get you from “add” to “safe” on the dip stick? Seems to be somewhere between 1/4 and 1/2 quart but I’m curious if there’s something more accurate than me just guessing each time. Also, is the dip stick pretty close to the center of the pan or is it...

    2001 TJ sport regear

I think the 44 carrier switches to the larger one at 3.92. If you're just trying to get to 4.10 in the front, the easiest route might be to get a full dana 30 assembly from a 4 cylinder TJ. If you get the full axle assembly you'll just need to bolt it up, otherwise you'll have the down time of...

Just a redundant check on my logic for my install

I can't tell from the pic but I gotta ask where you're putting the jack stands? If you don't have the upper control arms on the rear axle then please don't lift the rear by the axle since the axle can tilt without all arms connected, just use the lift and stands on the frame. You prob already...

Clunking/Popping On Left Front Going Into 1st Gear

Check transfer case linkage bushings near the shift lever. You can get under the jeep and move things around a little by hand to see if you're getting any pops or clunks from there. If this is the issue, it seems like a minor thing when you're underneath but since it's mounted to the tub you can...

SOLD Currie Track Bar Relocation Bracket

Yeah the angles are the same, but the jks bar has a smaller Axle side bushing compared to a Currie Track bar with a Johnny joint. The measurement For the axle side bushing on this is 2 1/8” in the pic. I think the jks was maybe 1 7/8”.

SOLD Currie Track Bar Relocation Bracket

Relocation Bracket as pictured. Requires welding the tabs at the bottom where they fit against axle shaft housing. Only mounted for a few days but never welded and then I went with a JKS kit because I had to order the bar and bracket sold together. Measurement shown for the track bar mount...
