What did you do to your TJ today?

That's not paint, just a blackener. https://www.bowdensown.com.au/the-black-box It doesn't last very long though.

What did you do to your TJ today?

Washed and waxed my TJ. More than 300000km on the clock and it looks like new.

Sorry, I didn't see that. Here is the explanation of how it is not done: 😆

    Design and fabrication chat

I'm not into steel but timber. And I can tell you that only the first, second and fifth step are correctly mounted, all others are upside down. They are bound to get lose over time. That's because a shrinking board bends opposite to its growth rings. May not be important to you but if you are...

    Question about airbags

I was wondering the very same thing. Obviously the manufacturer of airbags don't trust mechanics to do anything on them, so they are supposedly maintenance free. My wifey has got a Pajero NL, build 1999. These cars got recalled in Australia to scrap them because of a faulty driver side airbag...

Random photos: Got anything interesting, unique, strange?

This is Australia. A tyre after an outback trip: That's three corner jacks - and plenty of them in each tyre.

What is the best way to route a cable to the engine compartment?

I didn't know about the battery box. That's something I'll certainly add.

What is the best way to route a cable to the engine compartment?

The main battery is on the left as is the aux battery. I wasn't too concerned about the battery in the cabin, most of the time the windows are out anyway. And the rear one doesn't seal like the original: I did use a kit for the system...

What is the best way to route a cable to the engine compartment?

That's what I did in the end. It's the passenger side where I hang around ;) Done, just in time for our Easter short holiday. This time with a working fridge. 😊

What is the best way to route a cable to the engine compartment?

I risked it and drilled a hole in one of the plugs. That one is on the passengerside right next to the cable channel there. Why would it be a problem to have cables in the cabin?

What is the best way to route a cable to the engine compartment?

Hi TJers, I need to route a 8mm cable from the main battery to the auxiliary battery in the back. What would be the best spot to get through the wall between engine compartment and the inside of the car? I thought I could go through the holes for the removed A/C but that ends up in the black...

    Fender flare size

Why don't you go 255/85R16? You could ditch the spacer and may get away with 6 inch fender flares.

    Designing filler for auxiliary tank

Hi TJers, I've got a Long Ranger tank that came with abysmally bad hardware to connect it. So bad actually that it is impossible to fill the tanks up to capacity. I'm now planning to get a dual filler neck done to solve that problem. The original filler neck has a 1 inch pipe down to the main...
