How to get another Jeep scam

Final post in this thread. 9 days after this post, I was in an accident and totaled this TJ. Very sad day indeed. Thankfully, nobody was injured. I almost drove over the Corolla I hit. Stuffed the front axle into the tub. I salvaged it from the insurance company and sold it to a buddy. He...

How to get another Jeep scam

Hrmm...again, interesting! I don't need a load range E. I don't go that hard. I got these because that was the rating on the tire for the price. I have a factory (or what I believe is one) Rubicon tire as the spare; that's a load range E. So I figured it was cool. Different size of course...

How to get another Jeep scam

Thank You! Much appreciated. That's a 3" lift from BDS Suspension. Very happy with that. I got the base lift, plus front lower control arms. The color is Shale Green Metallic.

Interesting suggestion. I'm running them at 35. The ride is great. My pals even have mentioned the good feel. Might be that it is sitting on new suspension though. They are a heavier tire than I'm used to, for sure.

How to get another Jeep scam

I think I'm now where I want to be with tires. I burned through the last set way too quickly. Bad alignment and many parking lot smoke shows (I'm not perfect). When I got the lift, they sorted the alignment, but it was too late for the tire, so I just rode them out. This week, I found what I...

What tire size are you running on factory Rubicon Moab wheels?

Just to update, I picked up some 285/75/16 LRE Falken AT3 WildPeak. I am in love with them so far. 3" BDS and no rub so far. Haven't been hard off road yet.

These are 265 16s on factory Moabs so much room for height, but I’m concerned with rub 3” BDS with their FLCA. I think I have 285 with no issues. Anyone ha

    LED headlights and static

I'd start by making sure you have the body properly grounded. Not too familiar with static filters, but I have read that bad grounding can cause RFI static interference. I know there's a pair of braided straps from the back of the head on a 4.0l that go to the firewall and the hood.

Jeep Wrangler TJ won't start? Read this!

Maybe the last update on this one. Sure as it started getting crappy out, the Jeep would not start and I was heading to a family dinner. Opened my glovebox, pulled out the kit and installed it in about 3 minutes. Was on time for dinner. I have it routed well enough where I'm going to leave it...

Intermittent problems are the worst. If you haven’t run across the very specific issue before, and the problem isn’t actually occurring at the time you go looking, it’s really just an educated guess at best. Couple that with a starting issue that seems to tick up when the weather is crappy (by...

Definitely not the battery. Load tested fine this AM. Jumped power to the solenoid and cranked fine and started. I let it run for about a minute and shut it off. Jumped the solenoid again, cranked, but wouldn’t start. I don’t get it. Jeep for sale.

Could this have something to do with the temperature? the only thing that I can think of that would fit in that is the battery. However, I’ve never had to charge the battery or mess with it at all to get it to start. I ask because I was thinking, it almost always starts when I’m ready to take a...

This morning it did not start again. Strange though. It cranked hard a fast for a few revolutions, I let off, and didn't go again. Battery looks good...keep in mind, I have never had to put a charge on this TJ since I noticed the problem. It will just start some time soon. Same thing as...

Everything went pretty well. I replaced the actuator and the switch. About $60 for the two. A remarkable difference in the feel as I crank it. The intermittency of the issue makes it tough to say it's resolved. I'll try to remember to check back with an update.
