Would like to report back on this issue. I finally got around to checking the transmission fluid level using the above procedure. Found it low by just over a quart. Added the additional fluid last night. My son reported back today that it did not stall today and it shifted a lot smoother...

Was planning to change the transmission fluid and filter. Can check fluid using mentioned procedure above. Question can I mix ATF 4 brands together. Also when I go to change fluid what brand is recommended I don't see a lot of options at local shops

Stall = engine no longer firing on any cylinder

In the morning we start the Jeep let it warm up for about 5 minutes put it in reverse back out of the driveway into the cul-de-sac which is flat as soon as we shift into drive the motor will stall. We we shift back to park, start engine, shift back to drive and it still seems to hesitate a bit...

02 Jeep TJ 4 0 automatic. Problem shifting from reverse to drive when cold engine wants to stall. Once warmed up no problem. Jeep only has 40k. Any ideas
