2.5 rear main seal leak: Would oil leak additives be worth trying?

Those additives soften rubber and will eventually destroy all the seals.

High travel, high clearance & high octane, a streetable adventure LJ story

I'm waiting for people to start selling JLR axles. Those look very interesting as long as the price is right.

    Second Try

If you stretch it you're going to have a JK like breakover unless you plan on some big tires.

A lot of the parts on the dual volt machines are the same iirc. I’d get the cheaper 220 only rig though.

An expensive welding hood is only expensive until you compare it to a cheap one. When I started I bought the typical garbage HF auto darkening hood. I then upgraded to a Lincoln hood and my welding improved immensely. I would focus less on the shiny trinkets and spend the money where it will...

Usually in the welding stores they have mig and tig welding gloves. I wouldn't buy them online, I would go to a good welding store and try some on. The mig gloves will be thicker. It all depends on how comfortable you feel with a grinder and how much safety you want. I typically just use some...

I usually use tig gloves for welding since they are thinner than mig gloves for better feel. You can use them for grinding, but it wouldn't take long to cut through them to your skin especially if you take the guard off. For a hood you want something with a large enough screen, adjustable...

I'll against the grain and say pick up 3 or so of the "stronger" HF grinders. Put a cut off wheel on one and a flap disk on the other. They aren't as strong as some of the other name brands, but the most power isn't exactly something you want if you don't have experience with one. You can buy 4...

The front trackbar mount is easily the worst thing I’ve ever done on a Jeep.

I don't like the look of a 35 on a 15" wheel. Hydroboost gives you more pressure and I believe more volume. What application is the 17" kit for than? Isn't it generally thought to not run more than a 35" tire on TJ outers?

I'd hope not. Front the looks of the picture it at least needs some turn down if they aren't going all the way out the back.

Agreed. If you are setting up for the JK rubicon tire size, you can't find a better value than like new takeoffs. People practically give them away so they can lift and run 35's to drive to the mall. Not a huge fan of the lettering of the Rekon, but maybe it looks better in person. I...

Ruby: The story of a Jersey Girl

I'm not a fan of mud. There are a few off road parks up here, and the Naches area has miles of offroad trails and some rock crawling. The muffler was nearly rotted out so I ordered a Dynomax cat back. Dropping the pre-cats to replace the oil pan and do the RMS I noticed one of the cats were...

I had hydroboost on a build with 03 superduty axles and brakes. That thing had amazing braking power. I'm not sure why people are crapping on the JK 17's They look great, are cheap, and unless you like riding around on seriously heavy rated e tires for 16" wheels there really isn't a better...
