At the jeep junkyard with a disasembled dash i was ble to see there is a pry tab on top of the actuator that releases it. Without releasing it would likely do damage so glad I found the solution

So as a follow up for others i was able to fish a string behind the defrost duct where the hoses run then pull through new hoses. Also to reconnect the main vacuum feed line i spliced it with heat shrink tubing which seems to work great. Still not out of the woods need to replace the vacuum...

Hi there I have determined with all the helpful posts that i need to replace the defrost door vacuum actuator. Does anyone know how to release it from its mount? I don’t want to break the plastic tabs that hold it in place. 2000 TJ also can’t find a replacement online so off to the junkyard i guess

my bigger issue is finding out how to run the new hoses. They are inaccessible so i’m trying to find out if the whole dash needs remouval.

I think it only shows the short piece of the harness to the switch not the long piece to the actuators, but regardless shows it as unavailable but thanks for trying i appreciate it.
