Front Upper Control Arm (UCA) Bushing Replacement

I'll be sure to do that before I replace the control arm today. Thanks!

Front Upper Control Arm (UCA) Bushing Replacement

I'm reviving this because I am now getting around to replacing the front control arms. I replaced the front lowers and they were as easy as expected. When I decided to do the front uppers, I looked at them and they don't appear to be too bad. I am replacing them because the lowers looked bad...

Jeep walk around video praise and criticism thread

I usually search this forum for replacement parts to buy and stick with those. I will happily pay for the right part because I hate doing the job twice.

Jeep walk around video praise and criticism thread

My child thinks I should have recorded and posted videos of all the repairs I have done to keep the Jeep in stock form and in top running condition. With no desire to modify and then constantly fix what gets broken because of the modification, I have stuck to making sure that everything is...

    Heater core modification for access

Very creative idea for modifying the TJ when replacing a heater core. Sounds like none are available though!

So my Jeep caught fire today

I think that GM should put these fire suppression systems in my Bolt EV. They're going to replace the battery, but I'd feel better with one of those.

How often do I have to drive my TJ?

I try to get mine out on the highway at least once every other week, but sometimes it happens only once a month. Now that it's not regularly over 100, I'll take it out a little more until it gets cooler (50's) in the winter.

Looking for input on a potential TJ purchase

Rust issues aside, maybe it's just me but when I am selling a vehicle, I at least vacuum and clean up the vehicle. To not put in the minimal effort of doing that makes me think of everything else they're not doing as far as maintenance. When I see a dirty car for sale, I just walk away.

Any tips on driving my Jeep from from NY to OR?

I haven't taken mine any distance over 180 miles in any direction and would never consider it. My advice is have it shipped and fly to your destination. My most recent trip of 3k miles was in an LR4 and that air suspension made it a breeze. In a Jeep...no way on this earth would I drive that...

Should I replace the sway bar end with a stock or upgraded replacement?

I have the window sticker for my 2001 Sport and it has this option listed: Tire & Wheel Group (Canyon) - 30" ($850) Wheels - 15 x 8.0 Aluminum Tires: 30x9.5R15 Wrangler OWL A/T Axle - Rear, Dana 44/226mm Shocks - High Pressure Gas Charged I replaced my links a couple years ago with a "factory...

Front Upper Control Arm (UCA) Bushing Replacement

Thanks for the thread; I plan on replacing my front upper and lower control arms this weekend so all the advice helps.

Do Jeep dealerships do good work?

Because I am leasing an EV, I take it to the dealership for its scheduled maintenance which in the case of the 15k service involved only a wheel rotation. As the service order was being prepared, I was asked if I wanted their premium service which also involved a "COVID cleaning" as well as...

The unfortunate TJ of the day thread

This thread is by far my favorite. I suppose it's like watching disaster tv, but slower. I just don't know who posts an advertisement for their Jeep for 30k + with tons of mods and thinks someone will buy it. Are there people who would spend that much on these? I thought I was paying too much...

    So many questions

For your reference, my 01 temp sits at 210 and really never varies. My oil pressure sites at 40 at idle and 50 or so when driving. After all the work I've done on it, I've come to believe that it's normal for my vehicle.

    Comparison of soft tops

I went with a cheaper version I think also made by Bestop called Pavement Ends. I don't drive my Jeep a lot (500-1000 miles a year) so it didn't make sense to spend the money on a top end Bestop. I think this is the Bestop discount brand and it has worked really well for me...
