If you remove the original tj door strikers and replace them with the round cj/yj style strikers they will work. I believe some auto stores carry universal round strikers that can be fairly easy to bolt on. I haven't actually done this mod just did the research a while back.

I did this about 10,000 miles ago when I stepped up to 35s and it's well worth the time and money. I have wheeled it everywhere from Florida to Moab with zero bent or broken tie rod parts.
