    That's what I was going to suggest as well. Remove the wheels, put it on jack stands. Run it and see if you feel the vibes. If you do, have someone else ride it so you can watch what's going on.

    Best will be to check the PN that you have and make sure it can accommodate your gear ratio. One is for 3.55 or higher and the other is for less than 3.55.

    Engine sputtering, turning off randomly, backfiring/miss firing, not starting are usually the symptoms of CPS going bad before it quits completely.

    Clean the contact points of the distributor and the rotor. Could be CPS as well.

    There are 2 different sizes of carriers as well. Make sure you have the correct one for your gears.

    For similar amount, you can do junkyard 1 ton axles with 40s. That's assuming you do all the work including regear.

    VERY IMPORTANT: Since you changed the carrier and bearings, you'll have to setup the gears to the correct backlash, preload and pattern using shims. If not, you'll wipe them out in few hundred miles.

    On my 98, Jeep's pressure line was same size as Chevy's return. So used that as return and ran a new one for pressure matching the size of Chevy. I believe the pressure line size is 3/8.
