    05 TJ on the horizon

Guys, My return to TJ land is moving forward. I have found an 05. 145,000 miles Pix will be added when I can get them off my phone. The Good: No rust I can find. None on the frame, none on the tub, none at all. 5 almost new tires on 17" aluminum rims It's Electric Lime Green. For me, that is...

    I'm Back!

It's been way too long, but I'm back on the board and in the market for another TJ. I'll be on the board more often and help out where I can KenR955

    97 TJ 2.5L stutter

I can say that when I had my Wrangler, the 2.5 was a smooth running engine. Very slow, but very smooth. I did all the tune up steps you did and the final piece of the puzzle was the O2 sensors, I replaced both at the same time. They seem to have a lifespan.

    Oi! Newb from NJ!

xxshutterflyxx, I found this TJ in the local marketplace on Facetoobs. I have no affilliation with it, but the price is right if you are willing to do a bit of work. Edit-It says manual, but it also says automatic. Here is the link. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/201437680477439 It...

    Oi! Newb from NJ!

Where in NJ are you? I have found many TJ's for sale, but most have been butchered with spray foam and bondo, then covered with undercoating so they look good. When I bought my 98, I bought it because it was pretty much rust free, inspite of the 2.5 motor. Having said that, a Wrangler won't...

When do you know if the frame is to far gone?

Great Googley Moogley!!! That frame is the poster child for "Frames gone too far"!

Starter bolt rounder than my head

If those sockets fail, you could have a nut welded to the existing stub and use a 6 point socket on the new nut with a 11" ratchet attached to the socket. That should do it.

Starter bolt rounder than my head

Use these sockets. Picture from Google, just get the one that fits properly. Heat the housing where the threads of the bolt are now.

    Exhaust manifold to downpipe bolts

When my TJ needed manifold to exhaust pipe bolts, I used some from my "Coffee can of spare nuts and bolts". I ended up using metric size 8mm x 1.25pitch-about 75mm long. Washers and lock nuts to tighten things up.

    Heating problems: Please help!

FWIW, If the heater core flows a full stream in both directions, and both heater hoses are hot enough that you don't want to hold them for very long when the engine is at operating temprature, the waterpump is flowing at full volume and the thermostat is working properly, I'll wager that the...

Heater fan and temperature control settings not working

Rush, This vid should help. Jumper wires are wires you hook up to 12volts on one end and attach the other ends to the motor in question. I assume your 2003 is the same. Where he disconnects the wire bundle from the fan is where you would plug in your jumper wires. Hold the fan tightly, when you...

Heater fan and temperature control settings not working

Rush, FWIW, If the fan only blows on high, and not on 1,2 or 3, the resistor is the issue most every time. I know that was not your issue, but stay with me now. If the fan does not blow at all, the fan motor itself is toast, the resistor is also toast, a fuse blew or a wire disconnected...

    Jeep TJ engine options

If you will be driving on highways that are 2,3,4 lanes wide, all in the same direction, get the 4.0 engine. Here in central NJ, everyone has to win the commute to work and will run you off the road to do it. 55-60 in the slow lane doesn't cut it. That was one of the reasons I went back to a...
