I have an 04 2.4, unicorn for sure... happy to see another one on the board.

The jks had the prop on the body. The jls brought the prop back to the hood. Most use it as a handle.

We have a friend with the 6.4 in a RAM dually. Tows just fine. And saves $$ every day she does or doesn't drive it. I found a great deal on a used 2019 with the 6.7 CTD (3000 miles), had I bought new, it would have been gas. We don't tow enough to justify the extra upfront and ongoing costs...

A little dish soap for lube goes a long way too. When it dries, its not slick any more.

Cover the brake line by clamping something over it. I used a small piece of angle iron I had laying round on the second spring bucket I trimmed. I replaced the brake line on the first side after nicking it with the grinder, because, I don't think enough sometimes...

I have the 2.4 with 4.10s and 31's. Fine around town and on a trail/backroad. Interstate is terrible. Considering an LS swap, gears or a different jeep. Maybe a totaled 4.0 frame swap.

Just put new bestops on. Would like to see advice on how to keep them nice too.

I just bent mine out of the way. By hand.

I'm in Louisiana, LA, not L.A. :) Buying a 4.0 is the easiest option. I'm not sentimental about this Jeep. I do really like Jeeps, TJs in particular. Had a 97 back in the day, loved it. Didnt have the money to mod it the way I wanted. Now I do (still not crazy mods). Other than the 2.4...

Thanks - you guys are confirming what I felt I knew. I like to hear it from others who don't have their $$ on the line. I'll sit tight for now and keep a sharp eye out for a 4.0. And if mine blows up in the meantime, so be it! I'm not a super big fan of the khaki anyway... It was cheap...

I have a 2004, 2.4, 5-speed with 4.10s on 31's. It will barely do highway speeds in Louisiana, can't imagine hilly states... What would you do? Regearing is $1,200-2000 depending on the shop and the gear vendor. Engine swapping is more. Figure $3000-5000, DIY with parts. While I'm not...

Did anyone mention Ranchos yet? I have nothing to compare them to, but they ride great in mine.

Wish it was. Still squeaks when the accessory belt is off.

The plastic boots on the rear ranchos make it really difficult to get the bolts in. Reason enough to cut them off.

Could be the key switch too. Wiggle the key around and see if it comes on. That was my issue.
