I have seen a Setrab cooler mentioned in other posts. Have a link for one? Why the Setrab over the Derale other than mounting location?

I replaced the factory pan with one that has a drain plug and installed it there. Nothing was ever mentioned of sealant. That must be for a different post.

I added a gauge a couple of weeks ago and I have seen temps climb up to 200°. I would like to keep them around 170° - 180° is why I am looking into a cooler.

Soooo... I am still spitting fluid out if the vent tube. Are both axle tube openings supposed to have these drainage cuts in them or just the passenger side?

This is what I wound up with. I tried to make it as close to identical to the gap above it that I could. So far so good with no more fluid coming from the vent tube. Thanks everyone for the responses that pointed me in the right direction to fixing the problem I was having.

With work, weather and time wasting holiday stuff today is the first opportunity to get the axles out if the rear end. I do see that a groove was cut but doesn't look no where near as big as most if the photos I have seen. Is this one sufficient or should I widen it?

Looks like I need to pull the carrier to make sure. Guess I will pull the front as well while it is on stands in the garage. Anything else I should be on the look out for when I pull the lockers?

I recently acquired a set of Dana 44 front and rear axles already with ARBs and 4.88s. I have the rear swapped out and it is puking diff fluid from the vent hose. I filled it with 2qt and as far as I know that should not have over filled it. It does seem to be warmer than I would expect after 20...

I don't remember there being a washer on the install and checked earlier and there is no washer for the VSS. I am not using a speedo-healer. Other than being slightly slower than actual speed it worked fine. I am hoping that installing a set a d44s that already have ARBs and geared to 4.88...

torqued to 200lbs on install. I did recheck it today though.
