Worse MPG after re-gear. Any soloutions?

Hey all. I upgraded the Jeep and went from 30/35 axels to a 30hp/44. I installed lockers and got a re-gear from a reputable shop. Before the re-gear the engine lugged all the time. I basically just ran it as a 3 speed. I have the 42RLE. The Jeep runs much better in the rpm band, but I lost...

The Jeep started making a whine noise

Seeing if anyone has a guess, before I take it back into the shop. I did have gears and lockers done about 1200 miles ago. This noise starts at 30 mph, getting louder and higher pitched as I go faster. It is only when on the gas. The on and off in the video is from me letting off the gas. I've...

Scared to re-gear 42RLE after reading through the "vibration" thread

Man. The "reputable" shop here was $2200. That was a full master kit with new axel bearings and everything though.

Scared to re-gear 42RLE after reading through the "vibration" thread

TLDR: Looking for successful regears to at least 4.88 on the 4 speed 42rle. I don't need to hear from 3 peed, 5 speed, or 6 speed, nor anyone with giant tires. The vibration thread got me scared to just go 4.56. Please include tire size, and transmission. I know the non 4 speed guys will still...

Putting in an aftermarket overdrive switch

Oh, man you are awesome! I've been looking for exactly that! That picture solves all my problems of not knowing where things are actually going. Thanks!

Putting in an aftermarket overdrive switch

It is momentary. One leg switches when it is pressed, then off again when let go. I was just trying to keep the light on when it was off like the stock. I may just run a single momentary switch and an led. That wiring I know, haha.

Putting in an aftermarket overdrive switch

Yes, I know auto electrical is DC. Hence no idea what I'm doing, lol. Yeah that diagram I put up is of the switch I assumed would work. I may just give up on having it light up when off. I mean I can tell when it is on or off.

Putting in an aftermarket overdrive switch

I built a switch panel to replace the old one under the center console. I realized that the overdrive switch won't click in to a flat piece of steel. I'm working on rewiring it to a new switch. I'm more just getting some clarification on how the switch is actually wired on stock. I know AC...

    Repeating P0340 code

Welp, I bought another sensor. So far one day of it not throwing a code on a cold morning. I'll be back when this one stops working too. The brand was "Standard" from O'reilly's. I had to give them an actual part number. Trying to get a sensor from them pulled up the totally wrong thing.

    Repeating P0340 code

It didn't show up for 6 months. It got cold and now is every day, and in limp mode. My odbii scanner won't erase the code either. Trying to find a Mopar sensor now. That seems to be the main fix. They are discontinued though.

    Repeating P0340 code

Yeah, mine just came back too when it got colder. It was gone for 6 months or more.

Re-gear vs supercharger vs engine swap for lack of power

Looking good! Like my Jeeps big brother. How are those 33x10.50s? I think I want to stay "skinny" tires too.

Re-gear vs supercharger vs engine swap for lack of power

What year, trans, and any other mods to drivetrain. I just read that 37 page "vibration after gearing." thread. I'm now terrified to re-gear this thing. I'm in the 03-06 range with a 42rle. The ones that seem to get it most.

Re-gear vs supercharger vs engine swap for lack of power

Might be an option too. I felt fine the whole time I was wheeling. No lack of power ever. The only time I feel it is when I hit that skinny pedal on the highway. That is when a turbo works best. I'll have a look. Any suggestions on a good turbo kit?
