    Sluggish Acceleration

Also wondering if when it's at TDC and the valve is leaking if you can physically grab it and wiggle it up and down. -Mac

AC compressor swap out w/o charging the system

Either I burned up my alternator or the AC compressor for which I removed the clutch is making noise. I have a new compressor but not sure I'm ready to invest in charging the system. I believe the compressor came filled with the appropriate amount of PAG oil. Am I ok to swap it with the clutch...

    Overheating issue

Here's the guide for how to do it right: https://wranglertjforum.com/threads/jeep-wrangler-tj-cooling-system-overhaul-faq.3397/ Question simply is how have you deviated from that established recipe. Different parts? Need a flush? Could be a head gasket and none of that is relevant. -Mac

    Sluggish Acceleration

Machine shops use a tool to check valve leakage before assembly. You don't have that tool...so you either would need to engage a shop that does on that used head...or stick with the one you know exactly where the problem is. My guess is you can fix this problem with a $115 head gasket kit and...

    Sluggish Acceleration

Pull the head. At a minimum lap the valve and replace the seals. Alternatively go nuclear and have a machine shop go through the head...fair warning that could take months and no guarantees these days anyone does a quality job. You could also purchase a Clearwater head. I'd lap the valves and...

    2 Piece Hardtop Questions

I have an American Fastback one piece hard top. I'm super careful with the glass because I consider it nearly irreplaceable. A lot of aftermarket hard tops...glass has to be custom made and it's prohibitively expensive. Consider investing in a Rugged Radio intercom. I spent a lot of money and...

    Fuel Pump Change

I'm in Oregon. Let me know if you need me to help you smuggle parts over the border. I've got a month on a $58 Brute Power pump from Rock Auto. No issues so far. Allegedly designed in the USA. -Mac

    2003 Jeep Wrangler 4.0 knock

I'd pull those rear plugs and get a bore scope in there...and if you have the oil drained you can stick the bore scope in the oil pan and maybe look up at your rods and bearings. I got a cheap one off Amazon for like $30. -Mac
