This is the only hood lock that is foolproof.

The latches themselves are irrelevant to my project. What is important is the lock to the right of the latch.

So far not enough interest to justify manufacturing of needed parts.

I do indeed plan a 1/4" maybe a 3/8" backing plate behind the bumper. Even thought about threading the backer and then installing lock nuts over the exposed bolts for extra security.

Thanks much. Maybe someone who has actually done what I'm proposing will chime in. Being in Mexico makes buying additional parts next to impossible.

Stock bumper. I can mount the base plate directly to the bumper only or also drill thru the tube behind it as well.
