I went with Grote LEDs

I put a clarion M508 in a few months ago and I’m pretty happy with it. It’s a Marine radio so should be good with the top off. Also has Bluetooth and XM. But it’s not a double din if that’s a requirement for you.

I got them off of Amazon. $310/pair.

I will try and remember to do that. I’ve only had them a month or so. I attached a pic of them at night. Low beams.

Yeah they sit pretty much as far back as the stock lenses. No issues with the trim ring screws being blocked.

I really like the classic look and was really close to going with the hella lenses. I ended up trying out a set of Grote LEDs though and have been happy.

Unfortunately we did not take any pictures while doing this job. It wasn’t too difficult though. Removing the valve from the inside of the tank was a bit nerve wracking because I was sure I’d snap some of the tabs off that hold it in. It took a good bit of pressure to undo it.

That head unit looks much more at home in the LJ then most of the aftermarket ones. Good choice!

I was skeptical that it would make a difference but I’m pleasantly surprised.

I just put one in my 05 today. I was also having trouble between 1-2 and 2-3. Was like it had to push through something and it would click hard getting into gear. It would go away somewhat shifting extremely slow. But was still an issue. Now after replacing the shifter it does not do that...

I’m glad this thread exists. Just did this today. Worked like a charm. Now I can get gas into the tank again. And it won’t splash me anymore. Haha. That sounds like an infomercial skit.

I’m having the same noise in my 05 with a six speed. I had an exhaust leak at the cats which is been repaired. And I replaced a noisy tensioner. Both helped quiet things down but that noise after 1800rpm is still there. I’m just curious if any of you have had luck finding anything.

I had to remove that same type of lug nuts from my dodge recently. I lost the key. Used a cold chisel to cut the rings off then hammered a socket on. Took a few mins a wheel. I just run regular lug nuts now.

New LJR owner from Henderson. Having a blast so far.
