    Innovation At Its Best

These have been around a least since 1980's. I had a kit fitted to my CJ5 in the late 80's. They did work well for mud. I can't remember where I got them.

How far could you drive in 4wd with the rear shaft out

You will have to plug up the transfer case if the driveshaft has a slip yoke. Or you loose most of the fluid in the transfer case. A large socket the same outside diameter as the driveshaft can be taped in to hold the fluid in.

    Weird noise in driveshaft

Maybe a dry seal at one end of the driveshaft or the other. Sometimes dirt or grit will get in and cause that kind of sound and since the driveshaft is hollow it makes sound like it's coming from somewhere else. I would check the transfer case output seal and the differential pinion.

    Where's my motorheads at?

Was the marks on the oil pump drive tang made by a tool. Just wondering.

    Oil Filters

All 4.0 jeep engines use 51085 WIX. Some quick lube places use a different style to save on inventory.

    Can't get serpentine belt on

That bolt is how you tension the belt. Turn it one way it loosens the belt and turn it the other way tightens it.

    Can't get serpentine belt on

Nope just the center bolt that holds the little pulley. Did you loosen the bolt bolt that moves the little/tensioner pulley. It's just above the tensioner pulley on top of the bracket just below the power steering pump.

    Can't get serpentine belt on

sorry for the edit been a while since I worked on my xj. The pulley is below the power steering pump but not the pump it's self. The bolt that tensions the idle pulley is in the bracket for the power steering pump and the tensioner pulley. Here is a decent video of what I'm trying to say.

Looking for thoughts on this engine noise

My jeep had the same noise after setting. I know it was an sticky lifter, Was so bad at times it would miss till it pumped up. Had most of a bottle of Motorkote and dumped in. And not a peck since. I'm not a fan of additive's but had bought it for something else.
