TJ 4.0 running warm at Idle with A/C on

I live in Phoenix, AZ. It can get 115+ here in the summer. This past summer, I noticed my '03 Rubicon started running warm at idle if it sat for 10-15 minutes with the AC near full blast. On a typical 115+ day, the Jeep will run consistently at 208-214 as measured from the OBD port while moving...

    4.0 Won't Start; Throwing P0340

(My now new) Mechanic called. Confirmed the synchronizer assembly failed. Big "L" for Duralast hah! He also confirmed the Mopar part has been discontinued (like that needed confirming). They recommended the Echlin Synchronizer and CMP (NAPA), and from what I've read, that seems to be your next...

    4.0 Won't Start; Throwing P0340

Well I know I said I had the CMP and synchronizer replaced a few years ago. This was by my mechanic. I could have sworn I specified Mopar. Popped under the hood today, and to my dismay, there's a gosh dang Duralast under there. Very cool. I bet that's my problem based on what I've been reading.

    4.0 Won't Start; Throwing P0340

Mopar CMP's are unobtanium these days. Guess they were discounted a few years back. I've read folks having good luck with the Napa Echlin series CMP's. The sensors alone aren't cheap @ $60. I assume this is my best bet these days unless there are other recommendations?

If I'm just replacing the sensor (and not the synchronizer), do I need to re-time the engine?

    4.0 Won't Start; Throwing P0340

I always get the CMP and CPS confused. I had this assembly replaced a few years back: The plug on top is effectively the CMP, correct?

    4.0 Won't Start; Throwing P0340

Seems obvious eh? CMP most likely, but mine was replaced with an OEM unit a few years ago. I searched and had trouble finding folks with my exact issue. Scenario: This Jeep is a weekend toy. Stretches its legs once a week roughly. In prep for a camping trip this weekend, I drove it a few extra...

LOD signature series rear bumper / tire carrier info and pics

Thanks everyone! I'll share some pics soon. BTW - @MountaineerTom you had asked what orientation the brace was on the back of my bumper. It's the same as yours. I'm 100% convinced it's for additional bolts given there's a wrench cutaway at the bottom of the bumper.

Disregard. This was NOT a problem once I got everything tightened down. It lined right up perfectly. Another question for the LOD owners: did you shave the stock rubber isolators down on the tailgate or leave them as is? Even with the L shaped brackets fully retracted, I still feel like the...

I don't really want to wait a few more weeks to sort this out with LOD. I'm going to do my best to crank it into submission, and if it doesn't work, I'll pick up a Poison Spyder tie-in (much prefer the design TBH),

@MountaineerTom did you have any trouble getting the frame tie in brackets to square up perfectly? This is just a mock-up, but I couldn't get this damn thing to square up by hand. The top of the mount seems to be coming into contact with cross member (circled). Did you need to grind the...

PSA: Tie-In Your Tire Carrier to Your Frame

Friendly PSA - if you're running a tire carrier, please, for the love of God, tie that bad boy into your frame. When I first bought the Jeep, I noticed the rear tire carrier would bounce horribly over any bump. Looking closer, I realized the dingus PO didn't tie-in the bumper to his frame like...

In need of some storage and setup suggestions from members that camp and overland

I've been playing with solutions for the past few years in my TJ. My main goal is to take my family of 4 on a 2-4 day camping trip with a comfortable amount of space in the Jeep. This means carrying the load externally as much as possible. Few things I've learned along the way: This suggestion...
