SO nice! And those red wheel wells were a factory thing on the Skylark, if you didn't know. I always liked 'em, as they contrasted so nicely with the white body. I've also seen the wheel wells on the Skylark done in white, with it depending on the body color. Not sure if they did any other...

I'd do stuff like that, even as a kid. My dad was amused, but my mom was indifferent to it. No in-car DVD player necessary to keep me entertained (not that DVDs were a thing, yet). And yes, there were a number of motorhomes that ran Chevy pickup and/or van taillights, as I recall. Funny how...

As Edsel was never produced with the retractable hardtop, this one was a custom-built car that used a '57-'59 Ford retractable as a donor. Damn, that's cool! :cool:

It's not the 4X4 aspect of it that I'm surprised by (personally, I'm not a fan of that), it's the widened body that gets me. I've never seen that done on a vintage car before that wasn't an ambulance. Seen a number of modern(ish) vans that were widened for ambulance service, too, but man, a '57...

Right year, but wrong make for you, @Wildman...;) The '57 Ford always looked so much more "modern" to me than any of the other brands. I really like the color of this one, and someone did a really nice job with the wheel well radius. *Here's a stock one, for comparison: vs
