Any luck? I've recently developed a low pitch humming or rumble sound at 30+mph & attempting to sort it out. I disconnected the front driveshaft at differential and went for a spin, noise is still there (all 3 driveshaft u-joints are new anyways).

Well, it was the heat shield for the motor mount. I tried bending that sucker forward but it wouldn’t go far enough, literally needed less half an inch to drop the pipe. It was riveted to the motor mount arm so I took a pry bar to it and popped it off and was able to drop the pipe & oil pan. Now...

I assume it’s a shield of some sort, given its position forward of the cats & and dimensions- large enough to shield the first cat (think of an arc segment of a circle from 9:00 to 12:00) . So when you push everything forward, the forward-most cat is stopped by this curved sheet of metal...

Not dry but greasy I suppose which makes me think it’s oil from the manufacturing process, like people have mentioned and I’ve seen on another forum.

I think it’s getting better. I’ve been blasting heat while I go down the highway with windows open, to & from work. Prob the issue since I don’t smell coolant. Just gonna give it some time like you said. I like where this thread went 😂

I just replaced my heater & evap cores on my '06 X last week and now I've been getting a hazy film on inside of my windshield. Other thread suggested an HC coolant leak. I wasn't getting this film when the old core was leaking, just the smell of coolant. Now no smell that I can detect but this...

If I pull the fuel rail and cycle the key on/off a couple time to charge the fuel pump, would I be able to see the leak?

Would I be smelling gas if it was leaking?
