Engine Won't Start on First Try

Easiest way to verify fuel pressure is to let it sit over night and try to start it the next morning. If it doesn't start on the first time, cycle the key on and off three times, without starting, then try to start it. If it starts immediately after cycling the key, it's time to drop the tank!

Hello everyone, I just did this because I had the same issue, jeep start immediately after cycling 3 times the key.

Any resolution to this? My brother’s jeep is having the exact same issues two tries to start since he bought it over 10 years ago. Heavy unburned fuel smell in the exhaust.

Judging by the timeframe of the initial post here, I'm pretty sure I dropped the tank soon after and replaced the fuel pump. Just to try it and also the fact the gas gauge had been on "empty" years so there was another problem that needed solving, lol. Starts up fine now and I can see how much gas is in tank.
