Tj 4 cylinder 2.5 automatic reving high rpm's and not shifting gears. I tried to adjust the throttle valve cable and it didn't help. I checked the transmission fluid level and it was good but it smells burnt. What are my options?

My current gear ratio is 3.73. So if 33 X 3.73 / 29 = 4.25 Should get the gear that is closest to 4.25 also do I need to do the font and the back? I ordered my 02 sensor on Amazon yesterday, thanks for that.

Not sure my gear ratio, I will have to check it out. It is 1997 Wrangler SE 2.5. It was stock until I purchased the jeep, we did the lift and tires. Also I will replace the up stream O2 sensor.

I do have 33's and it is the 2.5 but should I be getting better? No highway driving, its just around town.

Having trouble find a rim size and offset? What is the recommended offset? I am see some -12 offset. Would -12 look good? 1997 TJ just starting the build, first Rough County 2.5 with Toyo 33.
