When we start it for the first time I'll try to remember to get a video.
Not done yet? When we start it for the first time I'll try to remember to get a video.
You funny guy.Not done yet?
I guarantee that right now at this very moment there's a socket that can't be found in that shop.
That figures.... he doesn't bring back key parts for the engine and then to top it off, he walks off with the coveted 10mm socket?? That's just plain wrong!!!I guarantee that right now at this very moment there's a socket that can't be found in that shop.
Fucking A!IT'S ALIVE.......
It starts and runs. Got to and antifreeze and let the engine run for 15 minutes.
But the MAJOR part is done.
Edit: I've got video I'll post later.
Something tells me every inch of your yard is going to be fair game for him testing limits!!!Big shout out to @Wildman - When I dropped the engine off he gave me an Axial Wraith and an associated box of goodies for my son to play with! I got him a Traxxas Slash 2wd for his birthday last year & he's been loving it, as soon as he saw this thing on the workbench this evening he about lost his mind. I told him we needed to figure out how to service the shocks & use the LiPo charger before we can run it & he dashed inside to grab his laptop. Downloaded the user manuals, got it charged up, & let it rip for a little bit before bed.

Real generous of you Rick. We're up early for a hockey game & he already said when we get back he wants to put it on the bench & figure out how to fix the steering. Having a problem trimming it out straight, looks to be a trackbar issue but he can figure it out.

With quick installation of the hood this morning, he's headed out for home!
A huge thank you to @Wildman and @qslim for the assist (actually I felt more like a tool gopher the whole time) in getting the engine back in and running.

I miss the days when Montana speed limits were "Reasonable and Prudent"...I'm about 40 miles west of Missoula, MT on I-90. Making good progress and should be home around 6 Pm.
Holy shit it worked.OK I got the picture issue figured out. My camera had gotten reset and was taking to many MB size for me to post. I'll load them all on PhotoBucket when I get home.
Here is the first video of us cranking the engine with the FI relay pulled.
And then second video with the FI relay installed....
Damn it was a GREAT feeling when it started.
Karma for the missing socket joke maybe?Dammit I left my magnetic trays at Hugh’s house. You lucky sonofabitch…
