Hello y'all,

If you take a look at my TJ you'll see JK style turn signals below the headlights. These were added when I went to high line fenders.

These are el-cheapo looking when they're lit up - they look like something you'd buy at the Dollar store.

I'd like to replace them with those dark-amber style LED turn signals which look like this:

Is this a plug and play installation? Would this fit in the same hole? I didn't install the turn signals. Not sure how much of a cut out is in my grille.

Also wondering if the LED aspect could cause turn signal timing issues.

Thanks,

-JC

Not sure about the fit. It would depend on how the hole is cut.

As for the wiring, if they are three-wire (90% chance they are), they will wire up with no issues. The TJs, like most cars, have a wire for the running light, the turn signal, and ground. (It's the sidemarker that is wired weird.)

I've had mixed luck with bargain Amazon LEDs like those. Sometimes they work, sometimes they fail. They're never quite as bright as the higher end brands. For that price they may be worth a try.

You will need an LED capable flasher to run those without hyperflash. EP26 for 97-00, LM470 for 01-06. Load resistors are not needed as long as the correct relay is installed.

Every Amazon LED I have ordered has turned into an Aquarium. Even with additional silicone.

Any recommendation for a better brand for a similar product? I don't mind spending more. I just like the look of those LEDs. The front grille turns signals are the only non-LED light I've got on the truck now.

If you want to spend, this is a very reputable brand:

https://www.quadratec.com/p/jw-spea...s-led-turn-signal-pair-07-17-jeep-wrangler-jk
I think those ones you have on Amazon are a direct rip of these:
https://gorecon.com/product/jeep-jk...nt-turn-signal-fender-light-amber-led-smoked/Same but with clear lenses:
https://gorecon.com/product/jeep-jk...ont-turn-signal-fender-light-amber-led-clear/
No experience with either of those. The Recon models are well-liked on various JK forums. The JW Speaker is lesser known, but their LED headlights are very well liked on this forum.

Both options should be DOT compliant.
