So I hopped in my Jeep today and noticed a CEL light, check them and I got the P0700 and P0562. Never had these codes before and I don’t know why I’m getting them now.

The Jeep drives fine as far as I can tell. I am going to take it to the shop tomorrow but would like to know if anyone’s had this happened and what it turned out to be.
Thanks

@ObedaTJ If your battery is over a year old or had issues dying change it. Check all powers, grounds as well.

Did you scan the jeep or use the key trick to display codes? There should be another codes causing the 0700 code.

Thanks,

Mark

So yes that is what the codes say. I cleared the codes and then restarted the Jeep. My original codes (2 for fuel pump related issues) came back. They’ve been on it for about 3 months now. Haven’t affected the Jeep at all and haven’t got around to fixing them. The 2 new ones from today disappeared.

Yes the battery is indeed over a year old. Never had any issues with it though.

I did scan the Jeep not using the key trick.
These were the only two new codes today

With the P0562 code you need to test your battery voltage. You also need to test the output of the alternator.
This code usually sets when your system voltage is below 10 volts. although your jeep may crank over and start, there is the possibility that low voltage during run/crank can prevent certain modules to wake up and function properly.
You need to properly diagnose the p0562 first before looking at the p0700.

Having those two checked today. I scanned the check engine today and those two codes didn’t come up, however when I started it, it made a kind of whining noise, not really troublesome. Started fine and on time but I definitely noticed that sound

Got them checked out, they were both good. Alternator and battery. Codes haven’t come back on at all.

Also found out that my transmission lines are done and I need new ones, new front axle U Joints, new front axle pinion seal, new front and rear rotors and brake pads, new sway bar links (one actually snapped off). Gotta love Jeeps

Been driving it for the last few days, codes have still not come back on. I keep checking like a maniac.
Although today it did not turn on. Hopped in, put the key in, all the gauges came up, radio everything but it wouldn't even click.
That might be the starter as the mechanic did mention my current one looks like its on its way out.

However the strangest thing that just happened was when I went to take it to get some food, when I got to the light I noticed it revving but the rpms weren't going up. I let go of the gas to see if it would take off, and it did. After driving for 15 mins or so, I came to the conclusion that it is accelerating by itself, without my foot on the gas. Even when I am driving and my foot on the gas, it speeds up FOR me. It is super annoying and I am hoping it does not have to do with the code that came up the other day... Any ideas?

Something is wrong with your wiring in my opinion, likely a grounding issue. Either take it back to the shop or get in there and check it. If you want to get your hands dirty there are plenty of ground wires you can check yourself.

So it’s been 12 days since I last saw the code, but it just popped back on. The dreadful P0700, no P0562 this time. The Jeep is starting and driving fine. No issues whatsoever. No tough shifting, no slipping. No limp.

What the hell could this be?

P0562 is still wiring, probably a poor ground or a corroded wire somewhere.
No no P0562 anymore. Just the P0700. Also I thought this was unrelated but now that I think more on it, I think it is related. The Jeep randomly gives high revs, it’ll even push the Jeep forward for me. While I do think their is a short somewhere I don’t know if that is the only thing that could be wrong

Just got these two codes myself. Was wondering if you had any other issues. I believe I got these from a bad battery conntection a year ago that I never cleared the codes from.
